Evangelical Apologist Hank Hanegraaff Converts to Eastern Orthodoxy

Posted by: Rob Bowman

On Palm Sunday, April 9, 2017, Hank Hanegraaff formally joined the Orthodox Church. Since 1989 Hanegraaff has been the President of the Christian Research Institute (CRI) and (since ca. 1992) the host of CRI’s Bible Answer Man radio program.[1] Hank, his wife Kathy, and two of their twelve children were inducted by a sacramental rite called chrismation into the Orthodox faith at St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, near where CRI is based. In chrismation, a baptized individual is anointed with oil in order to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.[2]

I noticed the number but thought only of triple 3's. Made me smile, like somebody up liked me, or something...

I hope this one doesn't go_all_the_way to the bad number. That Berman guy gives me a headache.

Ok, not really. I just said that to be saying something. But you know who really gives me a headache? Yeah, you know who that is. That one could "go", and take his filthy bags of poisonous rationalizations with him -- right back to where they crawled out from, his daddy, the father of all liars.

disclaimer: Touchdown Jesus [here and and this one too] had nothing to do with the above message

That is correct. My take on it, too. The Galilean Passover was traditionally held the evening before the Passover of the Judeans. Jesus, our Passover, was executed on the Judean day of preparation, 14 Nisan, the sixth day of the week in 33 Anno Domine.

But flesh and bone can

Gen 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

That's all you.

>>>>>And you’re denying Christ’s resurrection on the very weekend we celebrate it.<<<<<

That is a false statement, based upon a truncated quote which you then twisted and tortured amid your own poisonous Inquisitional style thought processes. You wrote that tortured process all out, for anyone to see.

No. If you believe Jesus doesn’t have a body, then you can’t believe in the Incarnation and Resurrection in which He was given a body and restored to bodily life respectively.

Twist and turn all you like, but even many Protestant anti-Catholics here would find your view to be outright heretical.

You're doing enough of that. Watching it in action kind-of reminds me of Linda Blair's head.

That's not quite what I said. What I did say, more fully, in no real way is in opposition to scripture regardless of your vain repetition of the false accusation you are continuing to make.

The Orthodox will surely be doubting the benefit of this soon enough.

FYI, Hank is a dyed in the wool Preterist, so he has been in left field a long time before this spectacle.

Spectacle is how I would describe it too. I spoke to Walter Martin a few times, on the Bible answer man program, while I was in the USAF. In fact, once, he said, ok, next up is Mark, from Travis Air Force Base, California. He asked me if I was in the USAF. I said yes sir, 18 years. Two more years to go.
Later, I felt uncomfortable listening to Hank, and shortly after that, I stopped listening to him altogether. The fact that he would do this, doesn't surprise me in the least. Let him go. I really don't care what he does. I just have NO intention, whatsoever, of ever doing that myself, but I think you already know that. 😃

I guess if they go from falsely asserting Luther CUT books from his Bible to he said at one time he questioned their place in Scripture (while he never omitted any of them), that could be seen as progress??? ;o)

Wanna bet on how soon we’ll see the same bogus claim again on the RF?

Yeah, but in comparison, it makes FReepathons look like Superman -- faster than a speeding bullet.

It is sad, isn’t it, when some have the opportunity to be magnanimous and help further the discussion and education of others on these threads to instead choose to be insulting, petty and quibbling. I can only imagine what shallow and depressing lives they must lead. I really appreciate you both for your willingness to speak the truth without resorting to the shameful tactics of those only interested in exalting themselves instead of Christ.

One of the nastiest things you can do is to try to turn like-minded Bible-believers against each other, and I resent the attempt, Vlad.

You're not paying attention to the Scripture passages that were explained earlier, about what the difference between the soulish natural man and the discerning spiritual follower and bond-slave of the King, Jesus Christ.

Repentance and reparations are in order here, Vlad.

I don't see how you manage to sleep, actually.

Spoken like a true Christian internet warrior, and warmly commending, although I’m not sure how much of this my bluntness and insensitivity deserves. You’re not too bad of a pal yourself.

Not everyone; for my tender sensibilities were protected by a Mod of some type.
