Thirty years ago....Center Point would have been considered safely out of the shadow of Birmingham (which was even then turning into a cesspool). If you pull out a map today....three sides of Birmingham’s city limits now surround Center Point. You’d have to move another ten to twelve miles to be safely out of Birmingham’s affect.

By 2040, you probably will have to live 50 miles outside of Birmingham to be safe.

I got lost driving in Birmingham a couple of years ago and didn’t think I was gonna make it out alive. It is a shame we can’t drive anywhere in any city in the US and not be afraid. I miss the good ole days.
