Many make the argument that “soon” is in the context of “a thousand years are as a day to the Lord and a day as a thousand years”. But Revelation is clearly talking about “soon” from a human perspective.
It is no longer “soon”. That has long ago passed.

The gathering of believers who comprise The Great Multitude in White Robes (Revelation 7:9ff) will take place between September 5, 2017 and October 5, 2017. September 5, 2017 is the start of The Great Tribulation. October 5, 2017 is Sukkot, also known as the Festival of Tabernacles, also known as the Festival of Ingathering.

The Great Multitude in White Robes come out of The Great Tribulation (Revelation 7:14), so their gathering cannot occur before the start of The Great Tribulation (September 5, 2017).

The Great Multitude in White Robes will be in the throne room in heaven no later than the Festival of Ingathering on October 5, 2017. Look at what they are holding in their hands - palm branches! Palm branches are required for the Festival of Ingathering (Leviticus 23:40).

The Great Sign of the Woman appears on September 23, 2017 exactly at sunset in Jerusalem - exactly at the end of Rosh Ha Shanah, exactly at the time of the blowing of “the last trump.” [The two (2) day observance will start one day late this year.] This may be the “rescue/rapture” date. We see the first evidence that the “rescue/rapture” has occurred when “The Great Multitude in White Robes” [Revelation 7:9ff] appears in the throne room of Yahuah (God) twelve (12) days later just after the opening of the Sixth Seal on October 5, 2017. These events allow us to unlock the timeline of the Book of Revelation.

Imminent means just that. We’re living in the last days now and the folks who least expect it (about 98% of the world) will be caught with their pants down when it happens.

This became a somewhat-recurring mantra of a friend, who really, really, really hung with me during the tough times, which have been many lo these past few years. Especially a few years ago and before that.
Not long after popping this mantra, this person began telling me how they were starting to believe some of the stuff Obama said. Eventually, it appeared that this person was a closet Hillary supporter - much to my shock given what we know about both Obama and Hillary (he is not as well-informed on them - my guess trusting the MSM).
We have not spoken for over a year and a half.
Yes, this particular mantra caught my eye, alright. Especially since this mantra is one of the last things I remember him mentioning rather adamantly over the phone in one of our last conversations.

I agree generally, not specifically:

John was told to write what was, what is, and what is to come. Chapter 12 of Revelation is a parenthetical look back in time.
Yeshua’s disciples were told exactly which day on the Biblical calendar he would return, but not which year. Tishri 1 is the Biblical date. Dusk is the approximate Jerusalem time, as that is when the new moon of Tishri will appear in the darkening sky.
We now also know the year: 6024.
If you have no desire to know, perhaps you have no desire to know the rest of what the scriptures tell us either. You probably want to live under the mushroom of the “Saved by Grace” lie too.
By the grace of Yehova, Yeshua’s bride will be saved by their faith, which will continue to the end, as is required to be saved at the day of Trumpets (Tishri 1).

Lightning is a bright flash across the entire heavens: an epiphany, electricity.
"This generation" - has it ever been up to anything good? A KJV search on the phrase ought to enlighten anyone actually interested.

This generation is that generation. Heaven and earth aren't passing away yet. Of that day and hour (of the passing away of heaven and earth), no man knows.
But as for the Days of Noe, there's a date: 17th day of the 2nd month. The flood of light (reality, truth) is going to destroy people. Light travels a bit faster that water, so beware, because Noah entered the ark one week out, rounded up the animals, and then entered for the long haul, sealing the door shut.
I also want to point out that the Great Sign is not happening in a vacuum.
Except, you know, it would be in vacuum.
