A coalition of pro-life organizations, activists, and journalists issued a public statement today calling upon Cardinal Sean O'Malley, the Archbishop of Boston, and the other Catholic bishops of Massachusetts, to stop their betrayals of the pro-life movement.
In its 2004 document Catholics in Political Life, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops specifically prohibited Catholic institutions from giving awards, honors or platforms to political figures who support legal abortion. The coalition cited nineteen violations of this in the last three years involving Catholic prelates in the Bay State.

"The coalition characterized the bishops' behavior as a series of "repeated, ongoing and worsening scandals and betrayals, which demoralize faithful Catholics, marginalize the pro-life community, and send a message of confusion and contradiction to secular society.""

Cardinal O'Malley has passed Holy Communion through the slats of section of border fence for a photo op, has railed in favor of gun control from the pulpit, and been photographed being blessed by some kind of a female bishop. His operation scoops a significant amount of cash of the top of collections in the diocese -- even off collections like air-conditioning and maintenance.
I'll have to verify the quote, but I believe he once said something along the lines of, "how can the democrat party be so right about so many things, and yet wrong about abortion."
He also jet-sets like he owns stock in airlines or something.
I find him to be an utterly scandalous excuse for a cardinal.

He also said that Democrat abortionists get to receive Communion because “the Church cannot appear to be going after one political party.”
BTW: Bishop McElroy made the same argument in AMERIKA mag. Democrat abortionists must be given Communion, so that the bishops will not appear to be tools of the Republicans.
