Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, Archbishop Emeritus of Washington, from the College of Cardinals.
Pope Francis has also imposed on Cardinal McCarrick suspension ad divinis and directs him to observe a life of prayer and penance in seclusion until the completion of the canonical process.
The statement of this resignation and these stipulations was publicized in Rome on July 28, 2018.
Regardless, it's a start.

Its a start. But no until the Church purges homosexuals from the priesthood will the vile molestation of vulnerable young boys by predatory deviants cease. At its core homosexuality is the molestation and imprinting of the young. It is an abomination that should be openly judged harshly and never tolerated. The Church also needs to disband the Jesuit order which has devolved into an unspeakable cabal. This permutation of homosexuals into the clergy has resulted in the people losing trust for the Church. Make no mistake. These deviants posing as holy men have paved the road for the neo paganism and decadence that plagues and will destroy Western culture.

I’m really waiting for the Fake-Pope Francis to resign. The church can’t handle too much more of his anti-Catholicism.
Fired is a good verb. Though perhaps the millstone into the sea treatment is to be commended as more Biblical.

I don’t anticipate any overarching reform to correspond with this fig leaf.

He could live another 5 or 10 or more years. I take no comfort in another decade of his misrule.
Don't kid yourself they also go after little girls and grown women. It seems that sexual predators are drawn to seek leadership positions in the Christian church. They see it as an easy to achieve pathway to indulge in their sickness.
If you look in to the Church leadership you will find all the deadly sins deeply embedded but not quite as bad as they are in government.
I have an aunt and my father’s oousin close to 100.
