Outstanding post - and question. I really do not know how non-believers find peace from the pains of sin - and that pain is eternal without a Sacrifice. God made sure there would be no more temple sacrifices with the destruction of the temple, because He had made had made an eternal Sacrifice in His Son.

The Messiah of Israel was born on an appointed Torah day 40 days before the Day of Atonement.
He was presented to Israel in the temple as a 40 day babe on the Day of Atonement,another Torah appointment day.
The Messiah of Israel was baptized on the same Torah appointment day and then led into the wilderness for the exact same 40 days at His birth.
40 days where He fasted..
The Day of Atonement is the last of the 40 days.
That’s why Israel was called to fast and afflict themselves on the Day of Atonement.
It is the 40th of 40 days the Messiah of Israel was led to fast before He began His ministry.
He did it for 40.
They are called to fast and afflict for the last day, the 40th.
His ministry began on the Day of Atonement , lasted 3 1/2 years, and ended on Passover, where the Passover Lamb died for our sins, in accordance with the scriptures. Was buried and rose the third day from Passover, as First Fruits, in accordance with the scriptures.
The problem is He can’t be born 40 days before the Day of Atonement if people say He was born on December 25.
He can’t be circumcised on the weekly Sabbath if people say He was circumcised on January 1.
He can’t be presented in the temple on the Day of Atonement if people say He was presented on February 2.
He can’t be killed on Passover as the Lamb,in accordance with the scriptures, if people say He was killed on Good Friday
He can’t be raised the third day from Passover,in accordance with the scriptures, if He was raised on Easter Sunday.
Judaism may just be expecting a little more Torah from the Messiah.
They can have Torah made flesh but it won’t be comfortable for them. They accept inherited lies that blind them to Truth too.
But that Truth can lead to what we need. Repentance and restoration.
What a glorious day that will be when people understand why Israel was taught to do what they do.
It’s all because of Him. Every major event was called to be a set apart day in Torah. And it points to the Son, the Messiah of Israel.
Not sure too many in Judaism would like that lnstruction/lesson about Torah that became flesh. Might evoke jealousy.
Not sure too many in Christianity would like that instruction/lesson about Torah made flesh. Might evoke anger that the precious traditions of men are provable false with study of his Word and His Creation.
The whole world can know the Word ,that Judaism and Christianity reads,became flesh.
His Truth will March on,though, whether people will get eyes to see it or not.
We all will see it someday. And there won’t be the separation there is today.

The Day of Atonement is an important day in the Messiah of Israel’s life.
