The confirmation class at First United Methodist Church in Omaha wanted to take a stand against the denomination’s longtime ban on same-sex marriage and gay clergy.
So when it came time to join the church on Sunday — the traditional end to a yearlong exploration of their faith — the class, made up of eight middle-schoolers, said no.
Their decision was in response to a vote at February’s United Methodist General Conference in St. Louis affirming the denomination’s rules against ordination of gay clergy and performing same-sex weddings on church property. U.S. delegates to the conference, for the most part, favored a modification of the rules that would give individual churches the right to decide, but others from Africa and Russia pushed the vote to retain the churchwide ban. The church’s Judicial Council has since upheld the ban.

No doubt in my mind that these teens got this from their parents and that congregation. All my Methodist relatives are nuts.
If one of them had been MY middle schooler, a trip to the woodshed would have been in order.
Everyone has to stand firm on this, with every member of their church and every member of their family. If we had a molecule of love in our hearts, we would fight the moral corruption with all our strength.
I think they need to revisit Romans.
Many older, wiser, and wealthier members have declined to continue with the UMC over the same issue, but for the opposite reason. Tired of faggotry being forced down the throat as “normal”.
There’s no way a group of 7th and 8th graders wrote that letter.
They may well agree with the sentiments expressed, but I don’t believe any of those kids could write so well.
This is an indication that churches will be under pressure to accept homosexual marriage eventually.

That is just it! This Methodist church was AGAINST gay clergy and the like! There are some old school Methodist out there. This was one of them!
These kids did not get this from the parents they got it from the schools or internet.
If their parents are in this church they know darn well what the doctrine is and they abide by it!

It should read that kids who survived the United Methodist church’s decades long push to abort babies decided to join their former enemy in their push to remove Christ from His church.
Likely getting this Sodomite indoctrination in the public schools (combined from some “churches” that don’t feel compelled to follow Christian doctrine).

from Africa and Russia favored keeping the ban in place.
Since it was a u.s school the kids probably did as their sodomite
