The apostles spoke in a KNOWN EARTHLY language they never learned before. For instance, if I don’t know Urdu, and I can suddenly speak it, THAT is the kind of miracle that was manifested in Acts 2.
What those who “speak in tongues” today tell me is that they are speaking in some unknown “heavenly” language.

You’re just trying to inject some Scripture and logic in this thread. We had some science proving chaotic behavior makes us/our religion better some how. Watch it!

Yes, and you would think that since there is only one heaven, they would only need one language, but all of the people speaking in tongues have their own personal babble.
Yeah, we can totally trust ABC when they say something that flatters us. They only lie all of the rest of the time.
When I was in college in Los Angeles.....decades ago.....I heard the story of what happened in the campus chapel (at Loyola Marymount University).
A student started speaking in tongues in front of everyone.
After the mass, an elderly couple approached the student.
They had come to America when they were young, and they told the student that he was speaking an obscure dialect spoken in only a remote area of Russia. They student had never been there. I wish someone had asked the couple to translate the speaking into English.
In a religion class I took as an elective, a male student was speaking in tongues one day. Of course I didn’t understand what he was saying, but it was unusual to say the least.
The gift of tongues is not discussed in Acts 2, but I Corinthians 14, though I suspect you already know that :-)

Methinks the Apostle Paul doesn’t quite agree with you there.
Tongue is just another word for language. Whenever the Bible speaks of tongues, it is speaking of KNOWN LANGUAGES. Some greek speaking folks used to get up in early church meetings and start speaking Hebrew (they had studied the scriptures) and it didn’t make any sense to the congregation. That is why Paul said someone should interpret that language - so that folks can say amen to it! The modern day charismania babble is not speaking in a language - it’s just infantile gobbly gook! It’s insanity run amock!
Some good examples of people waking from comas speaking a foreign language they didn’t know.
My English speaking mother after coma could only speak and write German. While German had been spoken in the house when she was young she never learned to read or write It.
Turns out this is not uncommon
