In a Christmas Eve message about the state of affairs in the United States, Rev. Franklin Graham called on Americans to pray for President Donald Trump and for our nation, that God will spare us "from the evil that is before us."
In the Dec. 24 post on Facebook, Graham wrote, "Our country is in such a mess politically and spiritually. I would like to ask you to especially pray for our nation and our president this weekend."
Pray that God’s hand would be on President Donald J. Trump and protect him, and that He would give him wisdom in the coming days," said Graham.
"And pray that God would spare our nation from the evil that is before us," he added.
"Will you join me in praying?" said Graham. "God might still perform a miracle at the midnight hour. His power is without limits."
Two days before he posted this message, Rev. Graham cited former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) and a column he wrote about the 2020 election.
He quoted Gingrich as follows, "I write this in genuine sorrow, because I think we are headed toward a serious, bitter struggle in America. This extraordinary, coordinated four-year power grab threatens the fabric of our country and the freedom of every American."
Providence of GOD.
???
Providince.
yes.. we are out here praying, and many are fighting in the trenches, to keep our country freen... to keep the constitution.. to keep socialism out of this great gland.
and there is McConnell dissing our President and giving in to the dems !
if they are going to link up with illegal means and let them make illegal legal... what the hey are they
thinking...
if you cant learn how to fight... then shut up !
There is only so much that we, who do not hold the reins of power, can do against the forces of evil that control our government.
Praying is truly the only weapon we have to defeat this, and it really depends on what God’s timetable for the end times is.
We may be called on to fight in the physical realm, but the spiritual realm is where the true battle lies.
We need to restore REAL FREEDOM. Low taxes, no welfare, no public spending on healthcare or education. No minimum wages or government-mandated work rules. A tiny government. Few regulations and fewer rules related to zoning or building codes.
Of course, if we’re going to return to freedom, we have to understand what that means. Unbridled opportunity also means unbridled risks. Some people WILL be left behind. America will have to be once again no place for the slothful or the stupid. Those traits will have consequences.
The great economist Tyler Cowen talks of “recreating a Mexico-like or
Brazil-like environment” in some places. That means allowing the creation of shanty towns with little or no plumbing or access to clean water as we now define it. That’s where the “poor” will really feel the weight of their bad choices. The existence of that kind of poverty will be a powerful motivator for most Americans — who will rise to the challenge of avoiding it. In short: The wages of sin really will be death. But prosperity will have no upper limit.
Amen
The most wisdom filled post on the thread.
I agree 100%. If God chooses, He will intervene. But I strongly feel the USA is currently being judged. It’s just a matter of time. God is raising up other nations and the rot within us is weakening us as well. The Old Testament gives many examples.
There are millions who are saying their rosary every day for US
I get it.
When I pray, I ask G-d to save our nation. But, when I pray, I also acknowledge that He may be judging us, and if He does, it is because His way is right.
Everything He does, no matter how terrible it may seem, is GOOD and comes from a position of LOVE for His creation...us.
If He allows Biden/Harris to get in, it’s because He is starting the judgement process. I’m reminded of a saying: “When the wheels of Justice turn, even some of the righteous are crushed”.
Before the gay marriage movement, this nation gave its life over to adultery and lust. If men had kept their hearts pure and not given into pornography and cheering each other on to ogle women, gay marriage wouldn't not be a problem. The more depraved men became, the more they lusted. They destroyed marriages, children's lives and so on. Broken families create broken children who grow up which in turn create broken societies.
Old fathers, who spent years looking and lusting after women, are now shocked that their country has no morals and is in decay have only themselves to blame. If you stand for depravity, that is exactly what you get. If you sin, don't expect to control the outcome.
Bingo, the Old Testament does indeed provide many examples, but how many preachers do you see that even allude to it? Almost none. Jonathan Cann does that, but it’s also why most in the “religious community” condemn him. He’s trying to show us what is going to happen, and no one wants to hear it.
It’s one thing to sin which we all do. Hopefully in our quiet moments we repent, acknowledge our mistakes and hope to do better and actually do do better.
But it’s something completely different to advocate for and applaud sin as Melania did ( and through her words the president did also). And especially when it’s sin that God went so much out of his way to condemn harshly. After hearing Melania, I felt for the first time there was a definite chance that Trump could lose the election.
Sin leads to more sin. And people hardly reflect on it.
This country has a lust problem. When people lust, they also approve of others doing it. They will also minimalize it so they don't feel so guilty about when they've done it. Their children watch this and repeat it as they grow up. Several generations of this and even Christian children won't know right over wrong because of their upbringing.
Don't act surprised when lines are crossed and people start approving gay marriage. God condemn adultery and lusting but somehow that gets a pass because it's hetero men lusting after women. This country is reaping what it has sown. You can't sin and expect to control it. It grows whether you try and keep it hidden or not. Then it morphs into other perversions because sin is insatiable.
People never wanted to listen to the prophets and judges. Nothing new under the sun.
So yes, you are right.
“The great economist Tyler Cowen talks of “recreating a Mexico-like or Brazil-like environment” in some places. That means allowing the creation of shanty towns with little or no plumbing or access to clean water as we now define it. That’s where the “poor” will really feel the weight of their bad choices.Yet somehow the countries where the conditions you describe are allowed to exist on any significant scale are all shithole countries without exception, where poverty and corruption are rife and where civilization and rule of law are mostly absent. They live like that generation to generation and for the majority of their populations, don’t pull themselves up by the bootstraps, or right their own country. Ever. Instead they all desire to come here and they always have, even before we had the social welfare state. There is something missing from your equation. I wonder what it is.
