In my twenty-two years on FR this is as well-written an original article on a fundamentally important subject as any I have seen. I salute you! You have the makings of a magazine article here. I have three (!) responses:
First, "God is love" is a statement that predates creatures: the three Persons have loved One Another always, as you captured so eloquently.
Second, and peculiarly, the ubiquitous "love songs" that dominate the media can often be better understood when God is substituted for the one being pined for.

Why? Because there is nothing on this earth comparable to 1 yet 3 Scripture says that God is light. Light can easily divide to a trinity. Note that in the middle of the spectrum is the rainbow, the part of light that we can see with our eyes just as Christ is the part of God that we can see. The infrared portion is our source of power and the ultraviolet allows us to see a beauty otherwise not seen. The absolute properties of light certainly causes us to take a closer look. The Doppler shift also introduces interesting applications to ponder.
