New Global Methodist Church Announces
The Insitute for Religion & Democrary ^ | 1 March A.D. 2021 | Mark Tooley

Posted on 03/01/2021 2:51:09 PM PST by lightman

After the United Methodist Church agrees to divide, a new Global Methodist Church will form for traditionalist conferences, congregations and persons to join, it was announced today.

The Transitional Leadership Team of the anticipated new denomination includes 17 persons, three retired bishops among them, plus the Rev. Martin Nicholas of the Houston area, an IRD board member who chairs UMAction. A vision for this emerging church was posted last year, with Nicholas, myself as IRD President and UMAction director John Lomperis participating.

United Methodism’s governing General Conference will meet August 29, 2022. Its chief action item will be to divide the church, likely under the Protocol for Separation, which stipulates four years for conferences and congregations to choose their preferred denomination.

There likely will be at least three denominations emerging from United Methodism: progressive, traditionalist and radical. Each will craft its own theological parameters.

Dividing United Methodism after many decades of theological battles will be difficult but is much needed. I look forward to Global Methodism replanting traditional Methodism in America after 56 year of domestic decline and continued overseas growth.

In August of 2009 the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) estabalished a "Full Communion Partnership" with The United Methodist Church

Therefore:

Lutheran (EL C S*A) Ping!

* as of August 19, AD 2009, a liberal protestant SECT, not part of the holy, catholic and apostolic CHURCH.

Keep a Good Lent!

The August 19 date refers solely to the adoption of the gaysbian agenda, NOT to the “Full Communion” agreemen

The radicals will behead you.
The progressives will hand you over to the radicals for beheading.

Casting about a bit and it seems if the link below is any indication that”radicals” may be whole hog in for faggotry of all sorts.

https://newmethodism.wordpress.com/2019/12/29/testimony-of-a-radical-methodist/

It would seem to elevate the love of the Lord — which I’ve sometimes characterized as that which proverbially makes possible those impossible things Alice chooses to believe in before breakfast — above the Holiness of the Lord.

Make no mistake, the Lord’s love as a reflection of Who He is is very important; however, no whew is the Lord described as “love, love, love” as He is described as “Holy,Holy, Holy”. The repetition was never without function, for it indicated His Holiness, which may be term the summation of Whom He is, is presented as the controlling aspect should Who (His love) ever come into conflict with Whom (His Holiness).

God’s love, simply put, can bring about astonishing things but there is a limit, He will not cease to be “Holy, Holy, Holy” even for the cause of His love.

His love is why Christ went to the Cross ... His manifest uncompromising Holiness was WHY Christ had to go to the Cross, so serious was our sin that someone had to die for them and that someone obviously had to be someone who could recover from such a blow.

Now the only question is when He looks at us does He see His Son or does He see us? No one is going to be thrown into the Lake of Fire because of what is written in the books but because their names were not recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life ... which is to say those who stand in that judgment only look like themselves.

But when people forget that the Lord is so absolutely Holy, or rather when they refuse to retain that knowledge and barter or compromise it away bit by bit, they may reach a point at which they can champion something so clearly disordered and sinful that, maybe especially if they don’t personally engage in that sin, that advocacy becomes a fruit that characterizes their whole public life, or at least a significant portion of it.

This is proverbially like a canary dying in a mine, when you see THIS happening you should be able to recognize that the air is poisonous there, and so I fully agree with Romans 1:18-32 that those turned over to reprobate minds will display this fruit in their lives.

This is NOT done for their benefit but for the benefit of those who might still recognize the fruit they are bearing, rightly discern why that fruit may have appeared in their lives, realize then their apostasy and flee from any more fellowship with them. Their being turned over is something to warn others about them.

Yet as has been observed in this thread, the reaction we are seeing far too often seems to be one akin to miners, having seen their canaries die, do not flee their doom but celebrate how inclusive and caring they are, and then they press on deeper into the proverbial mine where the air can only be worse.

This is because men love the approval of other men. They depart the truth cheering rather than crying, wise in their own eyes.

The progressives start their prayer with "in the name of the Lord." The radicals start with "To whom it may concern:"😀

3 branches “progressive, traditionalist and radical”

How many Methodist churches are barely hanging on financially at this time with one church.

Can they stay open if they lose 10~20~40% of their members?

How many of their current active members are ages 65-80?

How many members have found an online church and not Methodist during the pandemic and will probably stay with the online church except for funerals or other events?

The Catholic churches in N. California in spite of being pro immigrants are closing some of their schools and some of their long time parishes due to lack of interest/attendance.

My Mother and her 3 sisters were long time church goers.

After they buried their husbands, sold their homes and moved into senior retirement homes, they went to church via tv or visiting rectors at the homes. They were not interested in going out even with family to attend church.

About every 2-3 months, they would get together in the same retirement home for a couple of days of bridge playing. The only prayers were for biddable hands.

They were still Christian believers, and they no longer really wanted to attend church. They read their bibles and their Day by Day booklets. They loved reading Max’s daily readings/lessons.

After a year of the pandemic, many friends, relatives and us like the online services. We will probably do both online and in church when our church reopens for services.

The whole putrid ball of feces is still a heretical cult, especially if the split off group still allows ordination of women. It will be just where the radical wing is today in a few years.

Lomperis is on top of things, but I’m certain I had read just a few days ago that the denomination had left the separation off the agenda for the august 2021 virtual meeting and there was no guarantee it would be on the August 2021 meeting. So, I am a bit puzzled.

The WCA posted a letter earlier today saying if they weren’t on the agenda, then they would break away in any case.

I wonder if the denom caved???

I don’t think I want to be involved in anything with the word global in it. Bad choice IMO.

It’s a real shame the UMC has destroyed itself.
I left the church of my youth and am now Anglican.
I am home - the UMC is no longer.

Traditionalist I kinda understand. But what’s the diff between progressive and radical?

Just guessing:

Progressive "Methodists" will be ordinary, virtue-signaling Democrats.

Radical "Methodists" will be LGBTQ+ who want to create an heretical cover for their subversive political activism.

The “progressive” Methodist denomination will be acting in tune with the progressive-American-Left on issues like “critical race theory” and from that it will find further schism with remaining “Liberal” Methodist churches outside the U.S. that remain in the American led “progressive” Methodist church. Something like that is already happening now between remaining traditional Liberals (Naomi Wolf for example) in the U.S. and their Leftist dominated party of record - Dims. MOST foreign “mainline” protestant churches are more traditional Christians (like the missionaries that started their churches) than their current American counterparts.

Oh boy! The United Methodist Church becomes the Divided Methodist Church!!!!

When with God’s help we can get beyond the “limited supply” of covid vaccines, and can get back to normal, y’all are invited to visit an Orthodox Christian parish! Taste and see!!!!
