From time to time I will Look through my old quiet time journals. It helps me see how my walk has been. Sometimes I was down and discouraged, sometimes I was bold and grateful. My journal is a picture to the footprints in the sands of my past. This is an entry from December 12, 2008. I called it,

"The Voice Of The Lord"

If we were to truly hear the Lord's voice, it would be very powerful yet very calming at the same time. Those who walk in opposition to Him will tremble in fear at the powerful sound of His voice, because they fear the truth. While those of us who walk the less traveled path will find piece, comfort, and strength from a voice that guides us in our quest to fight the temptations of this World. Safety and protection is the gift His voice will bring to the weak and the humble of spirit.

I for one find many things in the voice of the Lord. I am reminded of the way the Israelites stood in fear of the Lord's voice, while Moses stood in awe as he rejoiced in the splendor of God's voice. Unlike Moses, the hearts of the Israelites were still in Egypt, and so one by one they would die in the desert.

I wish to be like Moses, and feel the joy that comes from the One Who spoke the universe into existence. I shall not hide from Him, because of my past sins. No, I will instead investigate the bush that burns but is never consumed. I wish to be cleansed of the filth the World has infected me with, so I can hear His voice and not tremble in fear.

O' Lord my Father in heaven, touch my heart, revive my soul, and help me live again. Be with me forever, and forsake me not so that I can stand in YOUR presence while listening to YOUR beautiful, powerful loving voice.

I shall praise you forever and a day, my Lord, my God, my Savior, Amen

I keep journal that I write in every morning after my quiet time. I write my feelings, sometimes I just write about what I did yesterday. Often times I look back and read them. It helps me understand my own walk with God. My struggles, my weknesses, the times I was blessed, and the times I felt alone, and the times I praised God because of blessings. We are human, and it is OK to have human feelings, as long as we realize that we strive to be like Christ, yet we are ever so lacking in our humanness to ever attain that wich we will gain when we are truly in His presence in heaven one day.
