It seems to me that I read something in a history book about mobs who were obsessed with racial identity - they said that their group was the best and everyone else was bad and a certain other race was to blame for all their problems and they were always expressing rage against this other race - anyway, the mob would ransack houses of worship. I can’t remember what this mob was called... some political party in Europe, I think...
