Inside high school band leader's 'cult-like' Bible study group for students who were forced into manual labor at his Florida farm to prepare for the apocalypse and ordered to pay tithes - as he is forced to stand down

A bandleader at Leesburg High School in Florida resigned amid an investigation after he was accused of operating a 'cult-like' group for students that masqueraded as a Bible study group.

Gabriel Fielder would allegedly invite teens to his 13-acre farm, on the outskirts of Leesburg, 40 miles north west of Orlando, where the high schoolers would be forced to do manual labor to prepare for, what Fielder claimed, was the approaching apocalypse.

The bandleader also reportedly ordered the teens to pay tithes - compulsory donations made to a church - to his group, known as The Elder Council, reports The Daily Commercial.

They were reportedly forbidden from telling their parents about the group in case they thought it was a 'cult'.

Working with Fielder in running The Elder Council, set up in 2018, was Leesburg guidance counsellor Leonardo aka Lenny Finelli.

Online records show that Finelli and Fielder registered a non-profit in Leesburg named The Elder Council Inc. in November 2019.

The whistle was blown on the pair's operation when Finelli was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a male student.

Finelli allegedly share inappropriate texts with the teen in September 2020 and then dated him when the student turned 18 in November 2021, reports Click Orlando.

he pair's alleged relationship lasted for three months.

That student told his therapist about the activities on Fielder's farms. The therapist then went to school authorities.

A former member of The Elder Council described the group's activities to The Daily Commercial: 'He told us basically that he had such a close relationship with God that it was very, very, very rare and uncommon for him to get things wrong. And his thing was, ‘If I’m wrong, then God’s going to correct me, you guys don’t need to correct me.'

Gabriel Fielder would allegedly invite teens to his 13-acre farm [...]

Well, that kind of reveals his whole nefarious scheme right there, doesn't it?

Anything less than 40 acres (in FL) is just fartin' around.

When I think of teens and acres of farmland somehow a Jason Vorhees image comes to mind and the fact those kids might be buying that farm real soon.

Yeah, I was just indulging in a bit of "dark humor," by expressing faux indignation over anyone with a piddling 13-acre farm claiming to be a "legitimate" farmer.

The parents of these kids were "asleep at the switch."

Any adults inviting my teen kids to sleep-overs at his "remote compound" will be subjected to more than just a cursory once-over.

Regards,

So was the government school. Conservatives should use leftist tactics to bring down the government indoctrination centers. Leftists support the government schools, which employ them and allow them access to impressionable minds (and other body parts), but normal Americans should fight what has become a communist front bringing down America. American parents, both working to keep up with the Joneses, are missing in action.

A very poor school. Most kids probably don’t even have parents. Many are homeless. Many are pregnant.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

OTOH, I don’t trust MSM reporting on anything, especially in regard to anything connected with Christianity.

Could be true, could not.

Meanwhile the public education establishment is pushing gay sex every chance it gets and allowing Satanist clubs.

I’m not saying this guy is innocent. He’s reputed to have said and done things that do raise several red flags, but all the righteous indignation over something a Christian does rings hollow in light of everything else they are doing themselves.

I share your skepticism.

Since when has Pubic [sic] Education been so concerned with pedophilia?

Teaching kids how to grow food is a good thing - should be part of the curricula.

That said, if he is a groomer; "Bailiff, whack his pee-pee!"

My state BOE funds shit like this.
They call it a day at a farm.
All it accomplished was lining the “farmers” pockets.
Usually the “farmer” is connected to the school some how.

If the kids were then later given or allowed to harvest some of the produce they helped cultivate, then I wouldn’t have a problem with it.

Otherwise, the day at the farm would just be free labor for the farmer to increase his take. Slave labor under the guise of “education”.
