Hanukkah commemorates a military and sociocultural victory against secularism, paganism, and tyranny.
"Messianic Jews" are CHRISTIANS. I love Christians.
They are... Christians! They believe in things like a triune god, the keys to an Eternal Kingdom given by accepting Christ as Personal Lord and Savior, etc.
We, conversely, are JEWS. We do not evangelize, so we don't need to talk too much about "who we are."
I invite all y'all "Messianic Jews" to celebrate Christmas and stop pretending you are Jews with your endless silly evangelical re-interpretations, dilutions, and appropriations of our faith and race.
The Maccabees would have kicked your asses, and did.

The article says,
Many believe that our Messiah, the “light of the world,” was conceived on the festival of lights—Hanukkah. The Bible does not specifically say the date of Jesus’ birth.
And that's when everybody gets to arguing about the date theories. THAT is the tradition! Tis the season!
It makes me suspect that it'll all go down in an hideous, raging inferno with the word from lowly, worldly merchants who only wish to make a buck:
Keep on the Sunnyside!
Is 40.3. A voice cries, Prepare in the wilderness the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God:
(The jokes write themselves.)
