Rodney Stark’s book “Bearing False Witness” shreds the narrative about the Inquisition and other slanders against the Church. Unfortunately it will never be read by those who need to read it.
Now moved over here and known as the democrat party Inquisition.
In ref: “Any state based on a single religion or belief is a terror for the citizens that live in that state under that terror.”...”Israel?”
Religious freedom is enshrined in Israel’s basic law. Muslims, Christians and others are free to practice their religion, have religious institutions and even K-12 schools run by those religious institutions.
What the basic law does protect, with regard to Jewish persons, is they can make Israel their home if they choose, because Israel is historically, and now again, the homeland of the Jews.
In the story THE Pit and the Pendulum by Poe. Does not it end with the French entering the city? The short story, not the Vincent Price movie.
BEAT me to it! Someone else actually HAS read the story!
I remember that song!
Waterloo Waterloo
Where will you meet your Waterloo?
Every puppy has his day
Everybody has to pay
Everybody has to meet his Waterloo
1)Noting Israel as a possible example of the point that was made is not anti-semitic. Did you even note that there was a question mark?
2) Clearly you are unable to understand the point made nor are you able to make an actual argument.
“Religious freedom is enshrined in Israel’s basic law.”
So where in the statement originally made was “religious freedom” referenced: “Any state based on a single religion or belief is a terror for the citizens that live in that state under that terror.” It’s not there. You’re creating a straw man. Why?
Is Israel a “Jewish state” or not? It claims to be. Is that not then a “state based on a single religion”?
That means, based on that original point that Israel (by necessity) must be a “terror” or the original point is not necessarily true (which was my point).
“Muslims, Christians and others are free to practice their religion, have religious institutions and even K-12 schools run by those religious institutions.”
That’s a largely rosy picture disputed by many non-Jews in Israel - example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z581dbGqr08
“What the basic law does protect, with regard to Jewish persons, is they can make Israel their home if they choose, because Israel is historically, and now again, the homeland of the Jews.”
But, as the original point voiced, a single religion dominating the state is a “terror” (that’s what was claimed, and not by me) and what leads is expressed by some in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOFRNGlEB6k
Horrible video. Reminds me of a White Castle hamburger. A tiny bit of meat, spread as thinly as humanly possible. They could have told the entire story in 12 minutes, yet they’ve spread it out over a mind-numbing ... zzzZZzzzZZZZZzzzzz ... 47.

Is Israel a “Jewish state” or not? It claims to be. Is that not then a “state based on a single religion”?
Israel does not claim to be a “Jewish state”. It does make of itself a homeland for Jews that want to settle there, but it enshrines religious freedom for all its citizens, including Arabs who are Muslims, and it gave automatic citizenship to Arabs living in Israeli territory from the beginning. Israeli citizens who are not Jewish, which included 20% of its population that is Arabs, have no religious obligations to Judaism whatsoever, and are free to practice their own religion and educate their children in their own religion.
Non-Jewish citizens of Israel are found in every profession and every area of government. There is even a Muslim Arab on the Supreme Court of Israel.
Everything from all to a lot of what I just pointed out, in terms of religous freedom in Israel is not available in all of Israel’s neighbors. There you have truly “terrorist” states.
“Israel does not claim to be a “Jewish state”.”
