For Tomorrow........
Sergeant Major Basil Plumley: You can't take any pictures from down there, son.
[Galloway gets up and is handed a rifle]
Joseph Galloway: I'm a non-combatant.
Sergeant Major Basil Plumley: Ain't no such thing today."
After retiring from law enforcement, Tilghman moved to California and began producing a series of silent Westerns that stressed historical authenticity over the grand-standing heroics of Tom Mix and William S. Hart.
However, his films lacked name stars and failed to click at the box office.
After his career in film went bust, Tilghman, nearly 70, answered a call from a friend to help him reform Cromwell, Oklahoma. Once called "the most sinful town in America," Cromwell was a place where vice was freely traded in many forms and the only peace officer was a violent, cocaine-addicted tyrant named Wiley (Arliss Howard). ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
Wasn't he the guy who popularized the story of the Gunfight at the OK Corral?
Sergeant Major Basil Plumley: Any one of you pussies call me grandpa, I'll kill ya.
Elliot had some of the best lines in "We were Soldiers"
I said, "General Ewell, give me one brigade, and I will take that hill." And General Ewell put his arms behind him and blinked.
So I said, "General, give me one regiment, and I will take that hill!" And he said nothing! He just stood there! I threw down my sword in front of him! We could have done it, sir. A blind man should have seen it.
On Ewell's failure to press on and take Culp's Hill on the evening of July, 1st, 1863.
That's why we fight the battles, isn't it Sam? The strangest stuff happens in the "fog of war." Culp's Hill should have been taken and Chamberlain's flank should have been turned, but neither happened.
Dershowitz argued the attack has been proven an accident and only conspiracy theorists believe otherwise. His evidence is motive - that it would be foolish for Israel to attack its ally. Second, he argued they would have sunk the ship to leave no witnesses if the attack were intentional.
He did not consider either of the two motives discussed yesterday, that the attack was to shut off US intel from going to Egypt or to protect a nuclear secret, such as possible deployment near the Liberty of Israel's nuclear force. He also did not go into the details of the attack. As you showed, Sam, it's awful hard to look at all the details and conclude the attack was an accident.
The point about not sinking the ship makes little sense to me. Given the direct torpedo hit and list the PT boats probably thought they had sunk her. Second, it would not do to loiter if they thought they were hitting a US ship, since it would be reasonable to assume the US would dispatch air support to protect the ship. On the other hand, if the Israeli's thought it was an Egyptian ship, they would loiter to ensure the kill, since the Egyptian air force was destroyed.

You bring up up an excellent point about waiting to confirm a kill. If they knew the ship was Egyptian they would have hung around.
It's the question of motive than need to be answered, if that can be answered then everything else becomes clearer. I doubt if we'll ever know.
LOL! The interview was spooky because I agreed with most of it. He brought up points about the history of Palestine and the Pali radicals that are well known on FR but largely hidden by the mainstream press. He has decided to oppose the liberal ivory tower establishment on the issue of the Israeli-Pali conflict. Seems he finally figured out that the Palis really want the Jews dead and the Europeans really are anti-Semitic and don't care whether the Jews live or die. I guess self-interest won out over fashionable liberalism.
