Liddy Comes Under Fire for Racy Calendar
Talon News ^ | 1/6/2004 | Jeff Gannon

WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- Nationally syndicated radio talk show host and author G. Gordon Liddy recently released his annual "Stacked and Packed" calendar amidst controversy over its content. Despite this year's edition being the 10th in a series, the reaction to this one has been stronger than in previous years.

The calendars feature scantily clad women with weapons and motorcycles. In an exclusive New Year's Day interview Liddy told Talon News he was motivated to create the calendar to raise money for charity and "put a stick in the eye of the liberals who were upset that I was on the air."

Liddy admits that he purposely tries to publish the most politically incorrect calendar.

"When I was a kid during World War II, every garage and machine shop had a pin-up calendar," Liddy said, noting that few such calendars exist today.

"We started with a girlie calendar," Liddy explains.

From there Liddy points out that because he is a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment, "all of the models would be holding firearms, especially if we can get fully automatic weapons."

Liddy was still dissatisfied until he thought of one more way to antagonize liberals.

"To make it complete, this year each of the models will be posed with motorcycles, the last unregulated internal combustion engine left," Liddy said.

Liddy himself appears on the cover with his own Harley-Davidson and gun along with his naked executive producer.

The controversy surrounding the calendar has produced a boycott movement embodied by www.boycottliddycalendar.com. No group claims to be responsible for the website but it has links to mostly hard-left sites.

The content of the calendar seems to have made others nervous, too. Liddy said he was cancelled from appearances on the Fox News Channel's "Fox and Friends" and "Your World with Neil Cavuto" because the calendar was "too hot."

Liddy conducts a talent search throughout the year asking listeners to send pictures of models with weapons. A professional photographer selects the finalists, and the women are signed to contracts. Donations to charity are generated at calendar signings featuring the models. The calendar, whose models can be viewed at www.stackedandpacked.com can be purchased from the website.

Liddy has written four books, the latest of which is "When I Was A Kid, This Was A Free Country," a reminiscent view of his youth in America.

Why must people boycott everything? JUST DON'T BUY THE DAMNED CALENDAR. YOU DON'T HAVE TO SET UP A WEBSITE.

I listened to his show for 8 years and grew weary of hearing about his b...s which had to have surgery done on them because they were too large.

I too heard the b@lls stories...he was describing them proudly as being the size of "grapefruits" or something pre-surgery.

Now, tell me FReeper ladies, would this be some kind of a turn-on for most women?

If I had to venture a guess, something like that would probably send the majority running in the opposite direction.

That picture of Liddy and the Bachelorettes looks like a promo for the next edition of "Average Joe".

The people who would boycott this calendar are not the types who would have bought it anyhow.

As usual with these types, it's a feel-good, but uselss and ineffective gesture.

Just for humor's sake...the http://Boycottliddycalendar.com website features these leftist links:

Right Wing Radio 12 Step Recovery Program!
Sarah Brady
Gun Lawsuits.org
Handgun Control
Women Against Gun Violence
National Organization for Women
Indymedia
MoveOn.org
ACLU
Michael Moore
Rosie O'Donnell
Abercrombie & Fitch Boycott site
Overcome Porn Addiction
Morality in Media
Concerned Women for America

And such funny comments as:
"Guns and porn are black magic that can bewitch men, incite them to rape, lust, murder, and destroy families. To possess a gun or porn is tantamount to worshipping the Devil, the priapic pre-Christian horned God. Eradicating porn (or guns) will stop the evil that men do. "

This begs the (somewhat rhetorical) question...Since the left is all in favor of the proliferation of porn, what exactly is their objection?

Also is being a liberal moralist an oxymoron?

I hate to say it, but next to the content streaming in from sundry cable shows, Stacked 'n' Packed is pretty tame. Abercrombie & Fitch had hotter stuff. And those were kiddies.

This is kind of like conservatives boycotting Micheal Moore. Like, is there any way Moore could get less of the zero dollars he currently gets from me?

That's exactly what I'm thinking. A boycott is only effective if you'd usually buy something that group or company. Judging by the links on that website, they'd never by from Liddy anyway.

Do you know what happened this week back in 1850?

California became a State.
The State had no electricity.
The State had no money.
Almost everyone spoke Spanish.
There were gun fights in the streets.

So basically, it was just like California today except the women had real breasts.

The website is obviously confused.

Concerned Women for America vs. NOW
Michael Moore vs. Morality in Media

Someone is clearly inhaling....
