Please, keep them, we're already dealing with a bad enough infestation of leftists up here, we don't need anymore.
To: george wythe
Liberals are selfish people by nature.
In this case, I say let them be selfish.

You think America will stand by while Canada makes billions off of hemp products, especially when those products are cheaper, better quality and much better environmentally than those made with American lumber, cotton, chemicals or petroleum and plastics?
OK, we have a grown man who is still apparently getting much of his information from High Times. Enough said.

As far as the quality of medicinal hemp in Canada goes, he's wrong. Ouch, what a disappointment for the liberals expecting government-issued hemp.

Well, the top reasons, as cited by www.canadianalternative.com, include universal public health care, tolerance of gay marriage, no war in Iraq, and no federal deficits. That's right, liberals, if you move to Canada, there'll be no war in Iraq. Oh, I mean, it'll still be going on, but you won't have to feel responsible. And that's really what it's all about, right? Not feeling responsible? For anything?

I understand the same is true here in the states. I watched an interview with one of the legal recipients of government marijuana here in the US and his take on it was that government marijuana was of about the same quality as government cheese.

I am glad to help any disappointed liberal mental-case get to Canada. They deserve each other.

I was going to trade you a dozen Seattle liberals for one conservative from Western Canada. Too bad you don't seem too enthused :-)

Anyone leaving the US for Canada to supposedly "escape Bush" is just as big a coward and traitor as those who did the same to dodge the draft during Vietnam.
Then again - maybe we should encourage them to leave - and revoke their citizenship with a permanent ban on re-entry into the country. Those sort of folks are not needed here.
Be sure to add them to our "no-fly" lists as well.

But moving to Canada is, ultimately, a selfish move. And aren't the liberal impulses to help the poor and sick, to seek equality, to protect the environment, to not force their personal religious beliefs onto others, all rooted in anti-selfishness? Isn't the liberal agenda one that considers the greater good? I think he's right -- moving to Canada is a selfesh act. They should move to Mexico, where their help is desperately needed.
If Left moved to Mexico, they could treat it as their personal laboratory, where any social experiment that they try will improve the local conditions in the short run, if for no other reason than that the Left will be creating a nanny state to shepard the people along.
They have the raw resources. The weather's nice, and they have oil and other natural resources at their disposal. They can build even bigger homes along the Mexican coast than they have now in Los Angeles or New England.
I say to the Left, don't be selfish! Don't move to Canada, move to Mexico!

Aw, guys, give us a break! We've got enough looney progressives up her already. Maybe we could take ours, and all those in your blue states, and make them a new country -- somewhere off the west coast of Africa, maybe?

I sent him an email: Dear Mr. Henderson:
I am offended by your article of today where you link the Taliban with Christians. This is both inaccurate and unfair. I'm what you'll call a "conservative Republican." I am nothing like the Taliban. I donate my time and money for the poor and sick, especially the most weak and vulnerable in our society. But because I am against abortion I'm some kind of fanatic. Do me favor? Sit down and watch a video tape of an abortion (each of the different ways). When you're finished think about the fact that it is legal for a woman to complete this act, on demand, at any time during the pregnancy, for any reason whatsoever. Think about the fact that 4,000 abortions occur everyday in our country, with less than 1% being the case of rape or incest. Read up on the fact that abortion has been linked to breast cancer, depression, drug use and suicide. I believe abortion is wrong and immoral, and under the First Amendment I have the right to say so. I am tired of being falsely associated with evil murderous groups, simply because I am against abortion. I am not a homophobe, a racist, nor a war hawk. Please stop treating me with disdain simply because you are pro-abortion and I am not. Finally, if the UN says Canada is a great place to live, well by gosh, you sure better listen. Conservatism is here to stay my friend (the 60's are over).

Very eloquent.
I watched a video of an abortion, where the ultrasound image showed the "fetus" reaction to being dismembered with a vacuum hoser.
It was the most sickening video I've ever watched, and it did change my mind about abortion.
Until that day, I thought that a "fetus" was similar to a bloody tissue. I was horrified at looking at a tiny girl fighting for her life, swimming away from the vacuum hose.
That girl will never have a choice on whether to live or not, since she was considered "part" of her mother's body.

Someone posted this comment earlier today but I think it bears repeating:
"What do you call 20,000 Blue Staters moving to Canada?

Thanks, enjoyed your post. If moving to Canada is a selfish act, then I say we should be magnanimous and tell them it is OK to be a little selfish. Up till now the "L"s wanted us to work and them to benefit, so why jump off the selfish train just as it is about to yield results for the US?

I don't know if it's a good idea to let the birkenstock brain drain occur. These community college drop outs have more knowledge of energy policy, weather patterns, terrorism, geopolitics and drug contraindications than graduates of prestigious universities with decades of public service under their belts. Surely there is a way to keep them.
