The party of the "little man" seems to be well represented among the New York elite.

Ever seen The Aviator? Great film... it also has a wonderful depiction of this particular mindset... the scene where Hughes is dining with Hepburn's family.

There is one Jewish person on the board, and that Jewish person is the one who vetoes all the other Jewish people

Why?

Rather than buying an expensive Manhatten co-op, why doesn't Sting just move into a duplex in Queens and give what's left over to the poor starving people of Africa? Hmmmm? Hmmm?

Good to have them bunched up so close together.

Possibly the best name on the list: Jules Demchick -- who, apparently, is neither a Dem nor a chick. He was one of the tiny minority of this list who contributed to President Bush.

"If we let her in," (Madonna) one board member told the New York Daily News, "we'd have to let everybody in."

Now that's funny!

I am sympathetic to these multi-millionaire co-op clubs, and their desire to keep away the Hollywood trash from their cultured environs. They have every right to enforce their own prejudices, however draconian they may seem, over potential buyers. There is a certain under-stated elegance that they are trying to preserve at these locations, and keeping out ostentatious Hollywood sluts and fashion-industry faggots is a good way to do this.

When I bought land in northwest Montana, I was definitely "looked over", since I also reside in California. Fortunately, I grew up in the upper midwest (Minnesota, Wisconsin) and agreed to meet the real estate agent on the lot in mid-January...

And they are just begging to be Lorded over in every aspect of their life - even their home.

A particular kind of sick personality tic, IMHO.

I think that's been Madonna's philosophy on dating for quite some time.

Given the list of rejects, I can see why they were declined. It is telling, though, how many liberals, such as Sting, want to be part of the privileged few.

Old rich = people who received their money on a silver platter from people who earned it in the past.

New rich = people who earned their money but will hand it to their children and grandchildren on a silver platter.

Thank GD, the "elite old money" segregate themselves - why any productive American would want to join the isolation of
this self important culture has always amused.

That the leftist pop culture most seeks the approval of the titans of the inane adds to the joke.

The old money elites exist to show that having it "all" means you loose it all.

Perhaps Ms Carey should learn to dress appropriately when she inspects her next proposed purchase.

yeh these 'LIMOUSINE LIBERALS' know that their party's espousal of TAX the RICH would NEVER affect them(TOO MANY LOOPHOLES built in for them). THat's why they like taxes. To assuage their guilt and have the middle class pay the burden. Very hypocritical and VERY pathetic!

wasn't there an episode in TAXI where Louie DePalma got in, but Penny Marshall (who played herself) didn't because of her silliness in Laverne and Shirley?

At stake was an apartment worth many millions of dollars at one of Manhattan's most exclusive addresses, and Sting was prepared to do anything to win the approval of his snobbish neighbours.

That's all I had to hear to come to the (tentative) conclusion that world rock star Sting is a painfully insecure, little man.
