What is wrong with him? I could never support McCain.

'Cause he likes corrupt, maniacal Senators who write legislation to to limit political speech, and abandon their fellow POW/MIAs to their fate?

THough it pains me deeply to say so, I do believe he has lost it. But thank God he did not lose it in a public place as McCain did.

Full confession here. In 1995-96 I was a big Gramm for President supporter, putting in a lot of volunteer hours for him. Too bad he ran such an inept campaign... 25 million dollars spent and he dropped out before the New Hampshire primary! The neatest explanation of this is that Phil is paying back McCain's endorsement of him in 1996.

I will NOT vote for McCain even if George Bush tells me to.

Hopefully he won't endorse anyone before the convention. Despite my own problems with Bush, I think he has more class and respect for tradition than that.

"It's a pure puff piece, unworthy if a man of Gramm's intellectual stature."

Unfortunately he's still a "toe the party line" man, so this is at the very least expected.

Unless he totally loses his judgement, W. won't publicly endorse any candidate during the primaries because there's no upside for him to do so.

Heck, I voted for McCain in the 2000 primary. I started regretting that very soon after, particularly during the whole "Gun Show Loophole" debate.

The worst Secretary of Defense since I have been alive is McNamara and I am 67!

Robert Strange McNamara is an "American?" business executive and a former (heavy on the former) United States Secretary of Defense.
McNamara served as Secretary of Defense from 1961 to 1968, during the Vietnam War period.

It was started out as a Republic. When did it become a democracy ?

When the people started electing senators and presidents.

I was a big Gramm supporter in 1996 when his stump speech began with "I am for less government and more freedom." Guess those days are gone forever. McCain is the worst my party can put forward.

Someone said;"A politician thinks about the next election, a statesman thinks about the next generation."
John McCain and Phil Gramm are politicians; Ronald Reagan was a statesman.

I used to like Gramm. If he supports the lunatic, then he is past it himself. Too bad.
