If you think we have problems in Israel, try putting a Judeo-Christian military system in the cradle of Muslim culture. And when you think about a military of 1.4 million people, with other responsibilities around the world, that is not a winnable situation.

I tried to say ten years ago, over and over again, that we must be involved only to the extent that it directly involves our national interests.

These arguments have been going on for 3,000 years. And when they do relate to our national interests, as this international terrorist movement does, we must act with a great deal of specific lethality.

We must go after the people who are doing this and eliminate them.

If you listen to Hugh Hewitt, or read his commentaries,
this PING list is for YOU!

(If you want OFF - or ON - my "Hugh Hewitt PING list" - please let me know.)

Please post your comments, and BUMP!

Thanks for the ping.
I remember when I first saw Webb being interviewed in the 1980s, my first thought
was "what a cocky @sshole!".

Later I found out who Webb is and what he has done and is doing.
I was such an idiot!

good read Ron...better find any allies in countries like Iraq, cultivate them, and give the military the resources and political cover to go in a do the dirty work, and let the new regimes sort things out, mindful that any recidivism will bring a visit from the Delta Forces.

Couldn't agree more.

But this conflict will be a more covert operation then American's are use to and it will be a protracted conflict, that will take many years, perhaps even many decades, before terrorism is brought under control. World wide terrorism is here to stay, but that doesn't mean that western civilization should roll over and watch our citizens being murdered by scumbags who have no respect, or regard for human life. Not even their own!

We have started this crusade first against Al Qaeda and the Taliban. Eventually we will have to take out Saddam Hussein, destroy everything associated with him, once and for all. There's no two ways about it.

Go after them and eliminate them, until the job is finished!

It's funny how these people ignore history- the bloody road to WWII was littered with "peace" treaty and promises.... and the Axis's goal of world domination was stopped by rough men with guns in their hands- not pretty words....

Really, RD; isn't that statement the bottom line to all this poppycock?

Debate time's done & so are these crazies.

Trie->China->Clinton->anthrax? Feb. 2000

In the course of 17 secret Trie interviews with the FBI in 1999 the Clinton confidant revealed an elaborate and illegal scheme to funnel large sums into Clinton-Gore campaign coffers and the president’s legal-defense fund. He also confessed to orchestrating the sale of a 500-liter (130-gallon) medical fermentation device to a pharmaceutical plant in China suspected of manufacturing chemical and biological agents for military purposes.

Peter Leitner, a senior Defense Department licensing analyst who specializes in export controls of dual-use technology, has reviewed Insight’s copies of the confidential FBI interviews with Trie. Leitner says the transfer of the highly sophisticated pharmaceutical-grade fermenting machine poses significant risks to U.S. security at home and abroad if used to make advanced germ-warfare products such as anthrax and botulism.
The buyer was Zhang Jiaming, director of the Changchun Biological Products Institute. Leitner says the FBI also should have been concerned with the likely participation in the deal of Peter Fu, a toxicology expert at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s research facility on the grounds of the Pine Bluff military arsenal in Arkansas. The arsenal originally was established to produce and store biological weapons, Leitner says.
