I have never believed a word Clint Van Zandt has said, on Geraldo, or any of the other shows he's been on. He's an FBI apologist, he's a Clint Van Zandt apologist. Think Waco.

The FBI is analyzing about a dozen other letters - including several that predate the World Trade Center attacks and the anthrax scare - that were sent to various media outlets.

Don't forget those "three or four" stalkers who were following Chandra before she disappeared.

BTW, did the FBI ever crack that case?

They have known for weeks that Saddam can order his operatives here to kill tens or hundreds of thousands of Americans and plunge the US economy into complete chaos at a moment's notice, and he is threatening to do so if we make a move against him. This charade is to buy time until they figure out what to do about it.

Perhaps "they" could do what "they" did when, during the buildup to Destert Storm, soddom threatened the use of biological agents against Americans.

"They" said, "you do that and we will massively retaliate with nuclear weapons."

Soddom believed "them" then -- and still does.

He is a f*****g ["Freaking?"] moron -- but not a suicidal f*****g moron.

That's the purpose of this knife at our throats. If he hadn't built back-end security into the plan, he would have been a gonner after 9/11, for sure. But, as you say, he's not suicidal, hence the anthrax.

This is taking a while to sink in, I can see.

"Daschle represents the government, and the government is what the right-wing groups hate," a source said. "By contrast, the media is something they use to get publicity and spread fear."
This whole article is BS, and this is the quote that gives it away.

This anonymous quote shows a bias and an agenda on the part of whoever the source is.

The anarchists who trashed Seattle and rioted in Philly and just recently protested (but behaved) in DC are far-left, not far right.

Marxists hate our government, and are looking for a vanguard to spur the people to overthrow our government.

I will bet anyone a six-pack of brew that IF it turns out to be a domestic group being responsible, it will turn out to be a far-left group.

Any takers?

I'm a little cynical regarding this report - it sounds far too Hillary! with the unnamed source and repeated mentions of "right-wing" hate groups

I agree- where's the hard evidence? You know- facts... not allegations.

Is this BS from the FBI or from the NY Post? I notice another article currently on FR that says the Germans are investigating how Atta may have brought Iraqi anthrax to the US. Maybe some day someone will find out what happened. I just hope they feel we can be trusted with the truth.

"Even the most hard-headed of the militia groups target their terrorism more carefully. They are less likely to use allies as cannon fodder."

Why do you automatically connect militia groups with "right wing extremists?" That's what the media did after OKC, thereby destroying a perfectly legitimate grass roots movement.

Think it through. If the government says "we know it's Iraq," (which most likely they have known for weeks), then we would have no choice but to strike Iraq. But if we strike Iraq, Saddam's operatives will unleash their threatened biological holocaust against the American people. Hmmm, that doesn't sound so good. (Believe me, the government fully understands the implications of those spores, and the way they've been processed to permit easy aerosolization.) The only way to keep their options open is to pretend that they are still trying to figure out who did it.

From here:
Anthrax spores mailed to Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle's office were rendered even more deadly by a chemical additive that investigators suspect was made in the U.S., according to a report today.

The sophisticated substance enables the spores to stay suspended in air so they can be more easily inhaled.

Iraq and the former Soviet Union are the only other countries thought to be able to produce the additive, according to The Washington Post.

But an unnamed government source with direct knowledge of the investigation told the newspaper that so far it doesn't look like they did.

Each nation used a different technique in creating the additive, so experts hope continuing microscopic and chemical analysis will point to its origin.

But pinpointing the origin may not necessarily identify the terrorists, because the anthrax possibly could have been stolen from the three countries' stocks during the past few years.

Evidence indicates the spores were military quality and almost certainly produced in a state-sponsored lab.

I called the Post, they don't seem to understand they are smearing patriotic Americans by lumping them in with Communists and Socialists. Main Office: (212) 930-8000

"Daschle represents the government, and the government is what the right-wing groups hate," a source said. "By contrast, the media is something they use to get publicity and spread fear."

You're right about this statement. If this were really a 'far right' anti-government group, Daschle would not be the one who comes to mind when such a person thinks of 'government.' Far-right groups aren't any more fond of Bush that the far left is, so Bush would be more 'reprisentative' of government than Daschle. Dick Gebhardt would come to mind before Daschle. Condit would too, given that he was 'soup of the day' for so long. Lieberman, for sure. A group in California would surely have gripes against their own congressment first.

In the media, Dan Rather would have been #1 on the list of anthrax recipients, not a tabloid down in Florida. Why target a tabloid? Why this one in particular?

The Tabloid's only claim to fame was making fun of Osama's pecker size, and having an editor whose wife had rented an apartment to some middle eastern terrorists, and the victim of the anthrax lived not far from where the terrorists went to train. All in a state where terrorists spent a good deal of time, and a state even Osama himself noted when he commented on our election fiasco.

Did the Tabloid make fun of Pat Buchanan or something?

Sheesh, even if it is far right- if you go far enough right you find yourself squarely on the left. The rhetoric is much the same.

And the quote about Daschle sure does sound like it is coming straight from the OLD White House spin machine.

Fox and Friends is reporting this now, too. I suppose it is possible, but since we know that the WTC and Pentagon attacks were NOT made by "Right-Wing Extremists", the most-likely source is still Middle-Eastern terrorists.

Fox and Friends call-in question this morning, "Anthrax--Home grown or Bin Laden?"

What would be the reason a home grown terrorist group/person would do this? What advantage does blaming the right-wing give to anyone's political agenda? These are more important questions IMHO.

The only thing about what you say that I disagree with is the inference regarding Buchanan.

Buchanan is not far right, and has not been for a long time. I am not sure he even qualifies as being anywhere on the right half of the political spectrum.

Exactly.

Maybe someone sent them a photo of smallpox victims to mull over, too.

Ultra-right-wing organizations

WTF..... Why is it always called right wing ? Democrats rip this country and constitution to peices and yet right wingers get the blame for everything.

Are hate groups like the kkk and the neonazis right wingers? .....I dont think so.... Heres an idea if it did come from within HOW DO WE KNOW THAT THE GUY WHO IS SENDING IT ISNT A TERRORIST FROM PAKISTAN WORKING IN AN AMERICAN LAB CREATING IT TO TRY AND KILL AMERICANS FROM WITHIN ?

By the way i think the neonazis and the kkk should be veiwed as terrorists too

I just used him because the left was always calling him a NAZI since he made his culture war speech. Pat is tame compared to the far right. The REAL 'far right' is more akin to the wackos who were posting in the weeks prior to the WTC explosion. Pro-Palestinian but with a weird, very blatant Aryan-Christian twist, judging from some of the sites they linked to. Remember them?
