On the campus of Novato High School today, according to eyewitness accounts, a gang of five, described as Mexicans, surrounded Andrew Smith, the author of an article on illegal immigration, and attacked him. Smith, not having made the first punch, defended himself, and fought back. Smith, and at least one of the gang members, were suspended from the school because of the fight. It could not be immediately determined if any of the Mexican gang were illegal aliens.
Smith wrote an article regarding immigration for his school paper. When the paper was distributed throughout the school, a violent reaction ensued by many of the Mexican students, plus a small number of sympathizers. The protesting students stormed out of their classrooms, and proceeded to run wild on the campus, ranting, swearing, creating a major disturbance.
The protesting students went throughout the school, barging into classrooms, attempting to incite a riot, asking all students to walk out of school in protest.
The school's administration later censored the article and apologized to the protesters, a number of whom are suspected to be illegal aliens themselves. At a public forum held by the school administration, at least one student admitted flatly that she was an illegal alien, but demanded "respect," and declared she had "rights."
One woman from the Novato Multi-Cultural Center at the forum said, "first of all, let me make one thing clear, there is no such thing as an illegal person." The administration was confronted by mostly Mexican, and American parents of Mexican, and/or of Central/South American descent. There was no mention of whether or not people from other countries should be allowed to come into the United States illegally, but there was near unanimous outrage with the article by those in attendance.
One lady, who claimed to know the head of the ACLU personally, who described herself as a Jew, and that at one time had somebody spray paint swastikas on her garage, said that the article was hate speech, and that it would incite violence by white students against Mexican students.
Well, so far, the violence has come from the Mexican students in the form of their initial chaotic protest, and now the direct physical assault on the author of the article.
One student said, "I wonder if the school administration did not invite this attack. After all, they were the one's who apologized for the article, and they never disciplined any of the students who went around the campus ranting and raving when the article first came out."
This story received national attention when Michael Savage discussed it on his national radio program. As a result of that nationwide exposure, letters have been pouring into the school, with near unanimous support for Smith's right to free speech, and the desire to have illegal aliens deported from the United States.

No big surprise to those of us who have lived with that border problem. And thanks, Dubya, for adding gasoline to the fire with your Mexican truck agreement. Which will also compound the problem of border security, but since when do we expect government policy to make sense?

Right alongside California's Governor Gray Davis.

I am shocked! Shocked!
Maybe the authorities should try asking them.

Somethin similar happened in Mississippi (I think) where black and hispanic kids attacked a white boy and put him in a coma. They were not punished. It just so happens the boy (interested in Conferdate history-but no racist) was verbally attacked y the principal who made him a target for the minorities.

Maybe the authorities should try asking them. I think that would be good information to have. But we'll never find out from the 'authorities' because that would be 'insensitive' to ask. After all, we would not want people who are here illegally, engaging in illegal activity (attacking U.S. citizens), to feel bad. That might wound their self esteem.

The lax position of the administration is an invitation for violence. I think Andrew Smith should sue the school district over this.

First Ammendment rights of high school students vs. the rights of Mexicans to invade our country.

All Mexicans are gang members?
Why the racial tone to this "eyewitness account"?

Is it not germaine to the issue that the attackers were described as Mexican? Yes, it is. Does the article say that all Mexicans are gang members? No, it does not.
When a group of five people move to attack an individual, that group can reasonably described as a gang.

Conservatism is not allowed in publik schools. Freedom of speech is in the hands of the lynch mob, if they don't like what you have to say, they'll kill you or come damn near close.
And they're "protected" people, they're better than citizens. They can attack with impunity.
But what can I say, if you want to shoot your mouth off, you're stupid NOT to be packing heat. Of course, the fascist administration would be watching him, so he should have had a friend follow him at a distance, with a bang-stick in his bag. Of course, it's sad when high school students have to act like CIA agents in Moscow.

I found out I can still be outraged when I watched "MTV Espanol" for a few minutes this week. Latino "rap"; one guy was wearing a sweatshirt with "Latin Thug" on the front. The stuff was as nasty as paleo-rap. The expressions on the faces of the prancing "rappers" showed an emotion somewhat more basic than a desire for inclusiveness.

We (America) do not have an immigration policy, and it can be said the lunatics now run the asylum and its admission policy. What the rest of the world has is a Colonization policy towards the land mass and wealth of the the North American continent. Tom Chittum has written a book detailing this slide till it hits the rock bottom of Balkan like activities, he calls it "bongo party warfare."

Why in this disturbing article, is it the trivia that you focus on?
We have racial intimidation, a hate crime (that will never be identified as such, one guess why), a near-riot by students claiming that the sensitivities of colonistas takes precedence over the First Ammendment to the Constitution...
And you're bugged by the word "gang?"

Just Skinheads and Goths.

One student said, "I wonder if the school administration did not invite this attack. It sounds that way to me. This whole thing with illegal immigration, especially with the Mexicans, is a Trojan Horse. We are the fools that will pay the price when these illegals finally tell the public what anyone with half a brain all ready knows, which is that Mexicos new borders will extend way north of where they are officially now....unless we do something about it.

No, because the source does not want their identity to be made known publicly. It is the same thing as every other newspaper in the country that uses sources that are very reliable, but do not want to be identified. I am very close to the source. Very close.

Sources and motive are not trivial.
You're ignoring the sources and motives for the attack and the disruption, in favor of a peripheral aganda.
Why?
Had five whites surrounded and attacked a Latino kid for writing a pro-illegal immigration editorial, would the Latino kid have been suspended for fighting back? Of course not.
Furthermore, the five white kids would likely be facing expulsion and hate-crime charges.
And you know it.

Those who speak out against our immigration "free for all" continue to be attacked both physically and verbally. You will be beaten, called a racist, bigot etc etc. America has been broken to the point where many refuse to speak out against this massive invasion of criminals that have no respect for our laws, borders or sovereignty.
Its to the point now, where our own so called elected representitives refuse to enforce and uphold our laws for various personal criminal reasons. It is completely out of control.
All of this hysteria regarding security at our airports due to the brutal attacks against Americans, perpetrated by foreigners, yet our borders and immigration policies continue to jeopardize the safety of every citizen in this nation.
What will it take for America to wake up? Maybe if thousands more American citizens are brutally murdered, maybe then, the rest of America will wake up. Our borders have become a national disgrace, and now a complete national security nightmare. Wake up America....
To: spoosman
Since these reconquistas and their symps hate America Mr. Smith should retaliate peaceably by waving the American flag in their face, no need to speak but perhaps hum the Star Spangled Banner for effect. It might seem pretty boring but on the first sign of anti-American violence we deem them foreign terrorists hunt them down and then with extreme predjudice, medicate them.

I agree. The current Mexican-United States border on our map is not where the border is anymore. Nobody knows where it is, but it is defintely north of the current line. In fact, what we have is no longer a conventional border. Lines are old. What we have are pockets of Mexicans literally colonizing the United States, and planting the Mexican flag. These colonies are all over the place in California. I have been to several. People there do not speak English, nor do they care to. They have no allegiance to the United States, only to Mexico. I know first hand because I have been to these areas and have spoken with these people. They are Mexican nationals establishng Mexican colonies in California. Nothing at all is being done to prevent this from happening. Our history books teach us that in order to take land away from another country, citizens of another country making the claim on that land had to fight for it. Not any more.

You know as a fact that school officials came upon several gang members beating up one white kid?
Could there have been a fight, and the two participants were suspended?
