Wonder if it can take a 90 degree turn at 65 mph without losing the passenger?

I have a pickup truck. My wife has a car. I don't see this product impacting my life.

"Wonder if it can take a 90 degree turn at 65 mph without losing the passenger?"

Think all pilots here are wondering "Does it bank into turns?"

Anything with this much hype is probably short on substance...

From what I've seen from a quick scan of the patent applications, it's missing a whole host of mandated safety equipment: restraint belts, airbag, lights, etc. And, the illustrations of people using the people movers show no helmets! Nader will have a field day.

Judging from some of the domain names I'm finding, it looks like they are anticipating that - crashsegway.com, diesegway.com, ihatesegway.com, segwaysafety.com, etc. All registered to the same owner in Virginia.

The owner of segway.com is in New Hampshire.

Info is on Yahoo News, ABC News (it is going to be on tomorrow morning's Good Morning America) as well as three or four FR threads (search on "Ginger.")

Does anyone know what is going to POWER this thing? Another article said something about the patent including verbiage alluding to "fuel-air ratio," which would seem to indicate internal combustion.

Millions of little weedeater-engines puttering everywhere---won't the enviro-people get wacky about the noise, the intrusion into spaces, whatever?

From ginger-chat.com -

Groovy from theitquestion forum, has just discovered that Acme Manufacturing LLC (the same company that trademarked "FLYWHEEL") has also trademarked the words:

"SEGWAY" (#76313604) and "SEGUE" (#76313603) Goods & Services: "Motorized, self-propelled, wheeled personal mobility devices, namely, wheelchairs, scooters, carts and chariots"

Here is the dictionary.com definition:
se·gue (sgw, sgw)
intr.v. se·gued, se·gue·ing, se·gues

Music. To make a transition directly from one section or theme to another.

To move smoothly and unhesitatingly from one state, condition, situation, or element to another: “Daylight segued into dusk” (Susan Dworski).

Nader won't care about safety if It's an energy miser. Greens like small cars, don't they?
