A six month investigation for 4 illegal rifles. ...which are perfectly legal in most states.

canisters of live ammunition The use of the adjective makes me wonder if the reporter knows what he's writing about.
and a box of hand grenades
Since there's no "live" associated with this, I'm willing to bet they are dummy paper-weights.

If it takes six months for every four rifles I'll just keep buying more rifles.

"I've only seen this in a Bruce Willis movie," said one stunned neighbor, who came outside to survey the spectacle. Clueless in Connecticut apparently leads a sheltered life.

Oh! the horror! That evil, evil man might have done something *really* radical next, like maybe. . .jaywalked!
The people who should be in jail are the people who wrote the law that put this man in jail.
To: Sandy
Books written by white supremacists aren't illegal last I checked. Why in the world AR-15s are illegal is beyond me. "Live" ammunition is the only useful kind of ammunition. I doubt this guy had access to real grenades. He might be a misfit but I don't understand the need to spend taxpayer money on a six month investigation. He must have really aggravated somebody to rate this kind of attention.

And he had *gasp* BOOKS TOO...

Uh-oh. How they found this guy intrigues me...the report doesn't include such pertinent info. The reporter sure does stress the words "assault" and "hate literature" though, likely in an effort to aide the police in their "investigation." If it were not for so-called "hate" crime legislation, and the completely unconstitutional removal of the right to keep and bear arms (no reference in the Constitution to limits on what sort of arms!) there would be no case against this CN man.
I'd like more details...on what basis did the authorities obtain a search warrant? What, other than possession of 4 rifles, is this 31 year old being charged with? Was he fingered, perhaps, because of public demonstration? Was his computer hacked? Was his phone tapped? Inquiring minds want to know.

He must have really aggravated somebody to rate this kind of attention.Yathink? Or could it be he was caught in the act of posting some pro-2nd-Amendment comment on a conservative news forum? Could it be he held a sign at a rally, professing, perhaps, a sentiment in support of gun ownership? Might the purchase of the rifles been a sting? Could a neighbor have played Big Brother and, after hearing a "questionable" comment, called in a "tip"? The whole thing stinks.

Clueless in Connecticut apparently leads a sheltered life.I suspect the "reporter" (government anti-gun propagandist might be a more accurate term) who wrote this either made up the quote or interviewed enough neighbors until he found a quote that fit with the breathless tone of his article. Here we have a victimless crime (possession of -HORRORS - "assault" rifles) that is being made to seem like a big deal by an anti-gun reporter for an anti-gun paper in a state with unconstitutional anti-gun laws. I would love to be on the jury for this guy. (He'd walk)

(If he doesn't, every Constitution-abiding citizen is sentenced with him.)

Bump. The previous comments say it all. It is especially disturbing that the prosecution found it important to make a big thing about the possesion of *gasp* books and literature that they disliked.

And since when do 4 FReepin' rifles constitute a FReepin' "arsenal" I'd like to know?
