This should be (another) wake up call for the police cheerleaders on this site (and you know who you are) who are always saying that the police are on "our" side. They didn't have any problems enforcing unconstitutional laws here. In fact the federal gestapo and other police spent four months and untold taxpayer $$$ just to get this poor guy. I'm sure there were real crimes like robbery, assault, burgulary (and speeding) that were committed in Connecticut during this time period and haven't been solved yet.

The police are not your friends. They are the club and the gun that the government bureaucrats use to enforce their will on the rest of us peasants.

Just FYI for everyone, AR15s are not illegal in ct. The thing is if you own a pre-ban you must register it,but you can go in any gun store and buy a post ban AR15.

Since the NRA approved gun control act of 1968 every person who purchased a firearm from a dealer has had to fill out a federal form 4473 which gives the make and model of the gun along with the purchaser's address and the answers to a series of questions like "are you a felon?" etc. These forms were supposed to be kept by the dealer indefinitely without any access by the federal gestapo until the dealer went out of business. At that time, the forms are sent to gestapo central in Washington DC. However, AFT agents have been illegally searching the dealer copies of the 4473's for years looking for purchasers of semiautomatic rifles. I think they call this "operation forward trace" or something like that. What dealer is going to stand up to them? At the very least they can put the dealer out of business or they can frame up a series of adminstrative law violations and put the dealer in jail if the dealers don't cooperate.

I agree. If a jury convicts this guy we are sliding down the proverbial slippery slope at breathtaking speed.

Interesting info. However, IMHO, I think in the wake of the attacks the sheeple have discovered the have stuff called 'grey matter' and are starting to use it. How could you not? Unless, you are a liberal.

The use of the adjective makes me wonder if the reporter knows what he's writing about.

"Live" ammunition... makes it sound like the ammo is on the verge of exploding or something.

There is some indication that a few people are waking up (first time gun sales are up), but I don't see any great push to freedom. Unfortunately, I see a lot of evidence to the contrary. The unquestioning acceptance of the so called "anti-terrorism" bill with it's unconstitutional expansion of the federal gestapo's search powers is one example. The usual suspects in Kongress like Blajagovitch (sp?) and Waxman pushing anti-gun legislation and saying that terrorists buy guns at gunshows. Personally it wouldn't hurt my feelings if some real terrorist capped a few of these jerks.

Inside 851 Forest Road, police recovered at least four AR-15 assault weapons, authorities said. The guns, a civilian version of the military M-16, are illegal in Connecticut

Despite the silly little fact that they are MANUFACTURED in the state by Colt industries. Like banning cars in Detroit. Insane.
