Easier said than done, Sweetheart. Many have made their stand, on the law and on their principles, and have had everything taken away from them including their personal freedom. Ergo; they are in prison at this very moment. Many have been setup by the BATFags. Stories abound and have been published here on FR about the excesses and criminally underhanded methods used to force legal gun dealers out of business and/or incarcerate them. I forget the exact percentage but something like 80% or more of FFL (Federal Firearms License) holders quit and gave up their licenses during the Clintoon Administration due to pressures applied by the Fed. Gov., mostly through the BATF, specifically to accomplish that.

GW Bush has made no move to stop that and Atty. Gen. Ashcroft just requested of the Senate that they change the law so he could use the NIC's data base to investigate lawful gun purchases. The fact that going through a NIC's background check would, in-and-of itself, prevent most illegal aliens from purchasing a firearm doesn't phase gun-grabbing Senators one bit. They still cry out that checking these data bases will keep terrorists from getting "guns". How that keeps them from hijacking planes with boxcutters is anyone's guess.
