Since the NRA approved gun control act of 1968
Do you have a beef with the NRA?
To: ChemistCat
Ha hah. Hah. Umm, we're too broke to afford any really INTERESTING guns. Just thought I'd make that clear.
Can I interest you in some summer sausage? :)

Guess I'd better throw a tarp over the daisy-cutter stored in my garage.

"Live" ammunition... makes it sound like the ammo is on the verge of exploding or something."Live" ammo as well as "Live" guns are capable of action independent of human intervention. This is particularly nasty stuff my friends. The old adage "Guns don't kill..." no longer holds water. The gun grabbers are correct, guns are evil and can, when around "live" ammo, load themselves and commit acts of mayhem. I suggest we all search our arsenals and if any "live" ammo is found call the proper authorities immediately. The ensuing arrest, interrogation and imprisonment is a small price to pay if just one child is saved

"C) This "investigation" was on going for 6 months under a sealed warrant. I have a great aversion to sealed anything, when it comes to government. The PATRIOT Act legitimized the illegal, in my opinion. I'm not a lawyer and I didn't sleep anywhere other than my own bed last night, either. These raids are for intimidation only and they are starting to work. The investigation seems to pre-date the Patriot Act. I do not like sealed indictments or secret courts either.

Do you have a beef with the NRA?Many - all based on their policy of preemptive surrender and compromise.

A six month investigation for 4 illegal rifles.
...which are perfectly legal in most states. This is a state law, so why were BATF and FBI on the scene?

"Live" ammo as well as "Live" guns are capable of action independent of human intervention.Right you are!
I keep my "arsenal" locked in a safe, and store my ammunition in another state. That way, if the guns get out, and try to start something they are impotent.

This fact, along with the fact that literature from Matt Hale's "church" and white supremacist writings were laying around (probably that cretin Pierce) leads me to think this guy wasn't wrapped real tight.Ah, the sweaty Matt Hale, the pride of East Peoria, Illinois, he of the cheap brown suit, and his buddy, Ben Smith, who shot a whole bunch of "mud" people in Illinois & Indiana over the 4th of July weekend a few years back--that's what got him the attention of the local and federal constabulatory. Those World Church of the Creator folks are slime.

This is it. I voted for Bush. I voted for his Dad and Reagan as well. I am conservative and proud of it. The light switch was just toggled in my head and now I see the light. The only thing Ashcroft is missing is that black trenchcoat and hat the gestapo used to wear. Bush is allowing this to happen. I've said from day one that this media blitzkreig to make cops heros was nothing but a bunch of bull$hit. The Patriot Act completely and irrevocably removes the bill of rights from the Constitution. Bush better make peace with the conservative people of this country and fast if he wants a republican house or senate this upcoming election. This guy will not be reelected. I will support McCain before I support this RINO.

Compare the sensationalized New Haven coverage of this with the much less propagandized version from
The Hartford Courant, by way of the AP:
Assault weapons found in New Haven home
Associated Press
December 11 2001
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- A New Haven man was arrested Tuesday after a cache of assault weapons and hate literature were found in his home, police said.
Charles Cornelius, 31, was charged with four counts of illegal possession of an assault weapon, police said.
After raiding his Forest Road home Tuesday, police said they found several AR-15 assault weapons, a pistol grip shotgun, hand grenades and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, as well as the hate literature.
Police said the assault weapons are illegal in Connecticut and can only be purchased by military or law enforcement personnel.
Cornelius lived at the home with his parents, who were not charged. Police described the parents as shocked and unaware that weapons were in their home.
The hate literature is connected to Matt Hale's World Church of the Creator, police said. Hale, a white supremacist from Illinois, has staged rallies in Wallingford over the past year.
Cornelius was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in New Haven Superior Court.
Clearly the New Haven reporter was a student of Professor Michael Brown's School of Journalism. (Caution: Satire)
Or course, neither article is particularly useful in explaining the state of the law regarding these weapons in CT. Posession of them is legal in CT if the S.U.G.'s(Sport Utility Gun's) were bought before the ban and then registered with the state. Also, the weapons would likely be legal but for having a different name, serial number and/or some cosmetic differences.
Registration leads to confiscation. Every time.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the funniest part about this.
If Cornelius had four M-16's (full auto, not select-fire), then so long as he had properly bought them from a machine gun dealer and paid his transfer tax,
he would have been breaking no CT state law.I guess, for some people anyway, living in the northeast may not be so great after all.

OK, all you CT and NJ Freepers (and all those with unconstitutional "assault weapon" laws) check out this link to another thread
hereUnjust laws can be rendered null and void by a few good people.

The people who should be in jail are the people who wrote the law that put this man in jail. Indeed, subversion of rights, whether by terrorism or democracy, is subversion of rights. The pen is mightier than the sword and should carry a heavier price. It's time we controled the pens of liberals, not the guns.
