Attention all Vets: Announcing the first Virtual Meeting of the Board of Directors of Veterans for Constitutional Restoration

When: Sunday, December 16, 2001

Where: #vcr on Freedom-USA.net IRC chat network

Time: 3:00 pm PST

I have confirmed with a quorum of the Board members that the first meeting of the board of directors of VCR will take place, Sunday at 3pm PST, in the virtual boardroom on Freedom-USA IRC chat network.

Directions: If you do not have an IRC clent program on your 'puter, you can get one from one of these links:

Windows

pIRCh

Available in both a 32 and 16 bit versions, pIRCh is one of the best IRC Cients on the market.  Set up is quick and easy for both the newbie and experienced users.  If you are looking for an IRC Client with multi-server capabilities, then stop by the pIRCh page and download the software.  Be sure to check out the links to scripts.

mIRC

Available in both 32 and 16 bit versions, mIRC is one of the most popular IRC softwares available. mIRC is easy to set up for both the newbie and experienced IRC user.  There are many addon scripts available to further customize this software.  The mIRC homepage has extensive help documentation.  Be sure to check it out!

Klient

Klient is the newest IRC software from the author of Little Star. Currently in beta, Klient is recommended only for the experienced IRC user until the final version is released.

paIRC

paIRC: Peace and Protection is a quality mIRC script that will provide the average mIRC user with more features, enhancements, and convienience as well as protection from many IRC and internet attacks.

Macintosh

Ircle
Ircle is the best IRC client available for Macintosh users.  It supports color usage, scripts, sounds, and video.  Updates come regularly also.

Homer 0.94
If Ircle won't work on your system you may want to try Homer. The link provided is to Blue Cow Software, the authors of Homer....Doh!

PureMac's IRC and Chat Resource Page....a very comprehensive listing of software for Mac's.

UNIX/Linux

EPIC - Enhanced Programmable ircII Client

Quoted as being the "Best" of the irc clients, EPIC allows you to do EVERYTHING that the irc protocol (RFC 1459) allows, and does not place any arbitrary restrictions upon you.

Once you have installed the client software on your computer, launch the application and in the STATUS window that comes up, type /server <irc server:port>. This will connect you to one of Freedom-USA network's IRC servers. When you are connected to the server, type: /join #vcr and you'll be in the chat channel.

The Freedom-USA network servers currently online are:

freedom.freedom-usa.net:6000

freerepublic.freedom-usa.net:6667

shakuras.freedom-usa.net:7000

While the board meeting is in progress, the room will be moderated, which means that only the board members will be able to chat in the channel. If you have a question, you can pass your question to anyone who has a @ before their nick, and they can bring the question before the board for discussion. To ask your question, type: /msg <nick> <question>

If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to FR mail, email or contact me via ICQ, I'll be glad to help you get connected. My email address and ICQ # are on my profile page.

Thank you with my whole heart.

I would truly love to help in any way I can.

An Associate Membership for non-vets would be wonderful. I hope that will be available to those of us non vets.
