Quoted as being the "Best" of the irc clients, EPIC allows you to do EVERYTHING that the irc protocol (RFC 1459) allows, and does not place any arbitrary restrictions upon you.
Once you have installed the client software on your computer, launch the application and in the STATUS window that comes up, type /server <irc server:port>. This will connect you to one of Freedom-USA network's IRC servers. When you are connected to the server, type: /join #vcr and you'll be in the chat channel. The Freedom-USA network servers currently online are:
freedom.freedom-usa.net:6000
freerepublic.freedom-usa.net:6667
shakuras.freedom-usa.net:7000
While the board meeting is in progress, the room will be moderated, which means that only the board members will be able to chat in the channel. If you have a question, you can pass your question to anyone who has a @ before their nick, and they can bring the question before the board for discussion. To ask your question, type: /msg <nick> <question>
If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to FR mail, email or contact me via ICQ, I'll be glad to help you get connected. My email address and ICQ # are on my profile page.

BTW Neil, what's the military branch makeup of the directors. I see Navy and Marine...any others?
To: A Navy Vet
Yep ... The Army is represented by Native American Female Vet ... and the Air Force is represented by both Alas Babylon! and James McClure Jr. .... :)
Fortunately, the Naval Service (including Marines) outnumbers the rest ... LOL

To: Neil E. Wright
Thank you with my whole heart.
I would truly love to help in any way I can.
An Associate Membership for non-vets would be wonderful. I hope that will be available to those of us non vets.

That's great. We'll get a Coastie later...or does my recent membership in the Coast Guard Auxiliary count?
To: A Navy Vet
I would say we go with your recent stint as a "Coastie" ... The mud Navy will be quite well represented by you ... LOL
