The List of Legal & Social Sanctions Against Men

For those who don't remember the 1960s, "male chauvinism" was a phrase coined by feminists (and many well-meaning men who worked with women in leftist political groups). They protested that male attitudes, language and strategies toward women grew out of a sense of male superiority.

. . . . In the '90s, we've entered a phase of "female chauvinism." You see --and hear -- female chauvinists everywhere -- in movies, novels, on television and worst of all, in real life.

Such meanness does not go undetected by men. The word "misandry" (hatred of men), in fact, is insinuating its way into the male vocabulary as a form of protest. Men's organizations have long argued misandrists always focus on men as violent and abusive, and this has had dramatic effects on a man's and/or father's sense of self, their social valuation, and their potential for being criminalized.

Today's men remain competitively individualistic, despite the growing trends that impose a frightening number of legal and social sanctions against masculinity per se. These sanctions have been initiated under the guise of "protecting" women and children.

Unlike women's groups of the 60's, men's competitive individualism - a valuable quality in the protection of their family - has worked against them in developing the kind of networking needed for combating the criminalization of men as a class.

Sadly, most men will think these legal sanctions are focused on the other (really bad) guy, until they innocently encounter the system. Meanwhile, the misandric legislation is growing by leaps and bounds.

The following list exemplifies the growing body of laws and social sanctions against men:

Domestic Violence (VAWA - clearly unconstitutional legislation):

"A surprising fact has turned up in the grimly familiar world of domestic violence: Women report using violence in their relationships more often than men. The information will soon be published by the Justice Department ..."

* legal representation and support available free to all women, not men.

* recantation is not allowed in most jurisdictions

* the physically "bigger" individual will be taken to jail

* can be alleged and prosecuted via anonymous source

* restraining orders are virtually automatic

* loss of parental rights for the accused (read Dad)

* loss of 2nd amendment rights (gun ownership)

* risk of criminal charges and imprisonment

* elevation from misdemeanor to felony consequences

* does not provide punitive awards for false allegations

Divorce

"Few of these divorces involve grounds such as desertion, adultery or violence. The most frequent reasons given are "growing apart" or "not feeling loved or appreciated." (Surveys consistently show that fathers are much more likely than mothers to believe parents should remain married.) "

* legal representation and support available free to many women, or must be paid by the husband/spouse. Not available to men.

* 75% of all divorces are initiated by wives

* nearly all divorces are initiated by wives when children are involved

* false allegations of child or spouse abuse have become more frequent with presumed guilt issuing to the husband

* loss of parental rights for the dad is an 87% probability

* family courts can and do negate shared parenting arrangements agreed to by divorcing spouses, awarding physical custody to the mom V* alimony: can be a lifetime award to the wife after five years of marriage

* can mean a lifetime of court appearances and attorneys' fees

* child support awards are arbitrary and capricious, but at minimum extract 35% of the dad's net income - and are constantly reviewed for income increases

* loss of home and family is virtually assured for dads

Child Support

"child support is the financial fuel of the divorce industry. It has very little to do with the needs of children and everything to do with the power and profit of large numbers of adults."

* legal representation and support available free to all women, not men

* no appeal from rigid, unrealistic guidelines

* no appeal from unemployment, poverty or imprisonment

* risk of felony criminal charges, even when ignorant of the claim (such as one night stands)

* risk of being placed on a "wanted" poster, even when ignorant of the claim (such as one night stands)

* loss of privacy through mandated federal reporting of employment, earnings, place of residence and banking

* loss of driver's license

* loss of professional licensure

* loss of parental rights (bench warrants - move-away moms)

* does not provide punitive awards for failure to grant visitation

* When moms are the non-custodial defendant, the awards are smaller, they are more often delinquent, and most often go unprosecuted.

* does not require accountability from the awardee (mom)

"Rather than pursuing ever greater numbers of fathers with ever more Draconian punishments, the Justice Department should be investigating the kind of crimes it was created to pursue -- such as kidnapping, extortion and racketeering -- in the nation's family courts. "

Child Support and Alimony

* can be assigned without fault

* alimony: can be a lifetime award to the wife after five years of marriage

* arbitrary and mandatory awards are not limited to minimal standards, but grow with earning capacity

* can mean a lifetime of court appearances and attorneys' fees

* assigns tax liability to the non-custodial parent (dad), and multiple tax abatements to the custodial parent (mom)

* does not require accountability from the awardee Feel free to add to, and PLEASE freely distribute this list.

Perhaps men can begin to realize that to win in their individual venues, they must join with other men to combat the wider venue. This is a class-action and constitutional issue, and men's freedom and equality under the law are at stake.

Otherwise, where will the criminalization of men and fathers end?

This subject exemplifies the total victory feminism has claimed over not only the rights of men, but the very right to be a man.

I'm so thankful that I never got caught up in any child support scenario. It's akin to cruel and unusual punishment.

Child support: No statute of limitations on claims of nonsupport/under support.

I must comment.

Perhaps men can begin to realize that to win in their individual venues, they must join with fair-minded women (yes, they do exist) to combat the wider venue. This is a class-action and constitutional issue, and each individual's freedom and equality under the law are at stake.

Sad BUMP. I couldn't imagine having to grow up without my Dad. Here's an interesting (and hopeful) article on Fox's website;

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,41387,00.html

Please don't be put off by the section ,(ifeminists) it's actually about how the authors family fell apart after her father died.

The feminine ideology causes just as much, if not more, oppression than the system they claim to combat.
But then again that is what the left always does. (Stalin, Lenin, Hitler, Castro, Daschle .....etc. & etc.)

I'm going to tell you a little story.

In 1991, I was hit with a paternity suit. The state of Iowa contacted my employers, and demanded them to garnish my wages. My employer also caused me a lot of grief, when he filled out the forms, and got the ball rolling. All of this transpired without a DNA test.

Now, here's the real rub. This was a woman I hadn't slept with. When I finally got my DNA test, and they found out it wasn't mine, They didn't so much as apologize, or refund me my money. I had to pay for the DNA test on top of it all. $250.00, and I didn't get my money back.

Just a little FYI, if you ever get hit with something like this, get a lawyer. At the time I was working for minium wage, and couldn't afford legal representation. It's been 10 years, and I'm still pissed. I pray to God that someday these laws get fixed so that we are ALL EQUAL under the law.

Ouch.

The biggest problem with the left-wing's utopian, is that ones person's "utopia" is another person's hell.

But I guess you know that.

I wouldn't even be surprised if more women physically abuse their husbands than the other way around. It's often seen as funny if a woman takes a frying pan to a man's head and men aren't inclined to report abuse.

I got news for ya theres guys here on ohio that had the paternity tests just like you in the same circumstance and even though they were proven NOT to be the father they still had to pay because the mother couldnt actually say who the father was

I was in court when it happened to the guy in front of me he paid for 2 years before he could afford the test after the test when he found out and tried to get it stopped the court said the child would be better off if he just kept paying and they left it that way hes still fighting it 6 years later

This state sucks for fathers rights especially if the woman is on welfare or section 8 housing period

Thanks for the bump.

The worst part of this is not that it is all true, nor is it that the intrusion by the state into every aspect of that which is necessary to make a person whole is, as usual, destructive.

The worst part of it is that the state is using Marxist dialectics to teach the people that the world is made up of eternally warring opposites. This process has gone much farther in relations between the sexes than it did in black-white relations or than it ever could in economic relations.

Once people are convinced of the model, they turn to the false God of the state for protection.
