You Bushbots

I'm no Bushbot (I'm a Keyester). I just like to check the source before I go believing everything you antiBushbots pull out of your collective arse.

"Whereas you can argue that money will indirectly help fund abortion, but that is not what the money is "for". The bill clearly bans that use of it. The spin on the article is 100% a lie."

We are going to give money to pimps. Pimps may not use the money for kidnapping girls and turning them into hookers. Pimps may use the money to pay for laundry bills, clothes, and other goodies, and the money pimps would have otherwise spent on those items will now be available to spend on hiring thugs for kidnapping. But we're not really encouraging you to kidnap.

I have no doubt that if this was a Clinton administration effort, you'd be all over this thing.

The Clinton administration would have specially targetted the money so it was used for abortions.

"The article is not a lie -- this bill funds the odious United Nations Population Fund (a major promoter of abortion ) to the tune of $25 Million dollars. It also says nothing about preventing chemical abortions which result from the use of RU486.

The idea that the language contained in this bill is going to prevent the recipient governments, UN agencies and NGO's from funding abortion is laughable."

To parallel the bushbabies comments about "bushbashers" let's try this ----

Nothing you say will change their minds that jr. can do no wrong!

We are going to give money to pimps.

Then argue against that, but don't rely on lies to make a point like this article does.

They'll never allow a PAB ban to come to a vote in the Dem senate.

Why? Because, with the help of the Pubbies, they've got a "veto-proof" majority or what?

The root question, Always Right, is "Do you think this is a good use of your tax money? Do you think it will lead to innocent babies being aborted in the 3rd world?"

We can debate the literal correctness of the article until the cows come home--and divide into "BushBot" and "Anti-Bushbot" camps while were at it. I suspect that someone, somewhere, deep in the bowels of International Planned Parenthood or the UN Population Fund is laughing at us....

All right .

Turning back the 6 year old Federal Food Stamp /Welfare reform law ,passed under President Clinton, President Bush has restored food stamps to LEGAL immigrants...is that better? The Hispanics will still spit in his face at election time..some people's vote can not be bought. But the Republicans have not figured that out yet

"this bill sends money to abortionists"

Only if you define the dispensing of birth control pills or IUDs to be abortion. Most of us do not agree with your religious beliefs.

Use the commonly accepted meaning of "abortion" and show me where this bill sends money to abortionists.

I'm almost unable to believe that so many otherwise intelligent folks are so easily decieved by a hypocrit.

You folks REALLY fear admitting that you've been decieved and lied to, don't you?

The root question, Always Right, is "Do you think this is a good use of your tax money? Do you think it will lead to innocent babies being aborted in the 3rd world?"

It probably won't impact the number of abortions one way or the other. Most of the money will be eaten by bueracrats. So I don't think it is a good use of money, but I don't think it shows Bush is a Clinton-clone/pro-abortion either.

Okay, I know I'm going to rile alot of the moral conservatives, but I want to throw this out for discussion.

In his new Book, Death of the West, Buchanan notes that the West will soon be far outnumbered by other nationalities. Isn't the only way to continue to maintain control over our own system of government and maintain democratic governments among our firends and allies to encourage abortion among some of these third world nations?

I think this is an issue that is extremely troubling from a moral standpoint. Yes, abortion is wrong. But at the cost of our country?

I never expected to agree with every single thing George W. Bush did; if you did, I can see why you feel you've been lied to. Somehow I doubt you voted for him anyway.

yse, dear any criticism of the current administration is labeled as "bashing"these days...funny that the mantra here was that we MUST make sure W is elected and then we'll hold his feet to the fire... now we most wave our pom-poms no matter the cost to liberty or principles.

You seem to be the one who does not realize that for someone to be "given" something has to be taken, and if it taken against your will, it is theft, plain and simple.

a famous man once said the worst tyranny is to make a man pay for something he does not want.

but you don't care and the funny thing is bush is taking us places while we dancing and sining that clinton could not take us kicking and screaming.

and you care not...just tow the party line...

I think this is the bill, H.R.2506. In it, I found this:

SEC. 518. None of the funds made available to carry out part I of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended, may be used to pay for the performance of abortions as a method of family planning or to motivate or coerce any person to practice abortions. None of the funds made available to carry out part I of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended, may be used to pay for the performance of involuntary sterilization as a method of family planning or to coerce or provide any financial incentive to any person to undergo sterilizations. None of the funds made available to carry out part I of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended, may be used to pay for any biomedical research which relates in whole or in part, to methods of, or the performance of, abortions or involuntary sterilization as a means of family planning. None of the funds made available to carry out part I of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended, may be obligated or expended for any country or organization if the President certifies that the use of these funds by any such country or organization would violate any of the above provisions related to abortions and involuntary sterilizations.

Does anyone check the sources, or just jump to conclusions? I am still not sure what exactly is true and what isn't, but I would think folks would look up the bill and try to find out.

Does anyone know if this is accurate reporting? Does this bill actually provide funding internationally for abortion clinics?

Great question. See my post #178.
