I realize I've been threatening to with-hold my vote from the republicans for a while now. I'm going to make good on it.

I think it is funny that the same people here who slammed Clinton for appointing gays are very quiet when Bush appoints gays.

I don't know why Bush does this. Why doesn't he send a gay ambassador to an Islamic country? It's apparently okay to offend Christians but you have to kiss up to the countries that send us terrorists.

I understand your point, and I think it is pretty dumb to appoint an ambassador to a country who will insult that country. What could W. have been thinking?

That said, W. is not all Republicans, so he won't influence my tendency to vote for good Republicans. In addition, I'd hate to think what AlGore would have done in all those situations you mentioned. W. is not perfect. Nobody is perfect. But a perfect candidate didn't run.

I agree with your principled stands and I back you on doing everything you can to keep the GOP holding the line. But don't let your principles let a man like AlGore win.
