It's not just inflation. It's also the fact that every year new spending gets added on and none ever gets taken off.

---------------------

It's a combination of two elements: inflation and the fact that each year the government gets into more crap it shouldn't be getting into.

Please. Bush is merely a stop-gap measure so conservatives can regroup and fight for real long-term change

I wonder how long this 'stop-gap' measure of Bush and Ashcroft will last...meaning - will the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution already be null and void by the time the Bush administration is through? Already, Ashcroft is taking steps that would do Janet Reno proud.

This 'stop-gap' measure may very well prove to be the final nail in the coffin for a constitutionally-based republic.

"...I am with the Constitution. What do YOU support!..."

I'm in the same coffin as you brother.

My, but it's getting crowded in here. Would you like a pretzel?

You live in fantasy land.

Oh, really! Then how do you explain the outcome of the last Presidential election? Negative. I do not live in a fantasy land. I don't wear a Tin Foil hat either!

Republicans, right along with Democrats have been raping the Constitution for years.

I know about efforts made by both sides in the past to circumvent the Constitution. I am aware of the ever-expanding role of government, and I don't like it. You, Sir, are ignoring the obvious- no branch of government is going to willingly give up it's power! That's reality, bud!

It took Republicans, led by Bush, to pass that Education Bill, as well as every other unconstitutional law for the past 100 years.

This is the beginnig of real reform in the Educational System. It has taken us 42 years to get where we are now. It will take a while to fix it! That's reality bud!

"2/3rd's of Federal Spending is unconstitutional" -- Dr. W. Williams, Professor Emeritus of Economics, George Mason University.

Largely by demand of the uninformed masses! We have a lot of work to do educating people.

Its all about power buddy. Not ideology. If you think the Republican party politicians have some sort of superior ideology then I pity your naivete.

No, the Republicans don't have a Superior ideology, but they are the best thing going! The Libertarians can't seem to pull their collective heads out of their collective @$$e$ (on the National level) long enough to be electable! That is reality bud!

Did you know the Republican Party platform actually calls for the ABOLISHMENT of the Dept. of Education because it was unconstitutional?

Yeah, I knew that one. It came up in the last election. Look at the Education System. Something has to be done. Government has failed, so time to try something else! The Status Quo hasn't worked. That's reality bud!

That just proves that whatever the platform may be it is just "boob bait for the bubbas", as Sen. Patrick Moynihan once said. Ear Candy for the ignorant.

There's a good person to quote- Sen. Patrick Moynihan! Mr. Freedom himself, right? And you DARE to call me "naive?"

"It is better to allow a scandal to arise than to betray the truth." --Pope Saint Gregory the Great ca. 600 AD

Good Quote!

When was the last time the possessor of the Authority to Declare War actually did so before the Executive Branch sent our fathers and sons off to foriegn lands?

"...Ted Kennedy is going to show his true self

Ted Kennedy is playing into Bush's trap.

Just wait until Clinton falls into Bush's trap!

Bush passed a $28B Education bill.
Not only was that more than 10% of the defense budget,
but it was ILLEGAL.

FedGov has no Constitutional authority to pass that bill.
But because this is a nation run by elites
neither you nor I have the ability
to challenge that bill in court.

If we could figure out a way
to restore the Grand Jury system,
we could challange un-Constitutional laws.

Would you like a pretzel?

You're showing your true colors. But, of course, it's not for the first time.

"...other than piddling tax cuts,
what has Bush done to reduce the fed gov't?

There haven't been any tax cuts.
They haven't taken effect yet.

Nobody can blame this on tax reduction.

Will someone please explain to me, again, how Bush is better than Gore?

Thanks in advance.
