There are few things in life as sweet as when environazis and their lies are exposed. I can't get enough of this stuff.

John Stossel should get an award for the show he did exposing the environazis lies and their indoctrination of children.

Others interested in this stuff are strongly urged to read the books of Dixie Lee Ray. Starting with Trashing The Planet. Its out of print if memory serves me right, but it probably can be found.

are now turning against science

No surprise here. To the leftist way of looking at things, there is no objective reality. All is ideological and "socially constructed". Science and math can be deconstructed when necessary, too, as has been done with literature and history. No joke: I have read feminist critics complain that science, math, management science, etc. are socially imposed types of thinking that men are better at than women, which helps keep women out of real power . . . Make sure your kids are being taught real math and science in school, not feel good approximations. I wouldn't want people who learned approximate math designing bridges! ;)

My comments go beyond the focus of the author, but it struck a nerve . . .

Naked Greens

FrontPageMagazine.com | January 23, 2002

MANY SOCIALISTS TOOK UP RESIDENCE in the environmental movement, seeing it as a way to undermine capitalism and private property. But justifying extreme governmental power – e.g., the Kyoto global warming treaty or property confiscation for "endangered" species – requires more than ideology, uncertainty, and fear-mongering. It requires science. New scientific evidence is now turning against them, and many Greens to advance their own selfishness, ideology and hypocrisy are turning against science.

Even during the record chills of the late 1970s, while ice clogged the Mississippi River and froze pipes deep beneath Chicago streets, environmentalists warned us not only of a coming ice age but also of global warming, the ruling theoretical orthodoxy among climatologists since the 1920s.

Do not look at the Northern Hemisphere, where human smog and smoke dim incoming sunshine like a manmade volcano, said many eco-scientists. Look instead to the South Pole, which was purportedly warming slightly. Sunlight-dimming pollution from our cars and factories tends to be "latitudinally-bounded," circling the world at roughly the same distance north of the equator. But the fossil fuel "greenhouse gas" CO2, carbon dioxide, spreads evenly throughout Earth’s atmosphere – so the right place to measure our planet’s rising climatic fever, they said, was Antarctica.

But now scientists from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the University of California Santa Cruz have reported in the journal Science that the giant West Antarctic ice sheet is not melting, as Greenies prophesied, but is getting thicker.

Other scientists from the University of Illinois Chicago have reported in the journal Nature that large areas of Antarctica have not been warming but cooling – by about 1.5 degrees F. per decade from 1986 until 2000.

Antarctica was supposed to warm faster than other parts of world according to computer models used by Kyoto Treaty supporters. Antarctica’s ice (up to 16,000 feet deep in places) was supposed to melt, causing sea level to rise hundreds of feet – submerging New York City and Miami and turning inland cities such as Sacramento, California, into seaports.

"Continental Antarctic cooling," wrote the scientists in Nature, "….poses challenges to models of climate and ecosystem change." Or, as Sallie Baliunas and Willie Soon wrote at James Glassman’s techcentralstation.com, "the cooling trend across Antarctica over the past several decades contradicts the computer simulations of significant, catastrophic made-made global warming."

One unworried beach city is Malibu, California. Residents David Geffen and about 100 other Hollywood moguls, stars, and other bigwigs are asserting their private property rights to deny riffraff access to their beaches. "Some of the best, most liberal people in Malibu turned their backs on me over this issue," Malibu-hoos Steve Hoye, former boss of its local Democratic Club. "They are all my friends. But their No. 1 issue is private property rights." They still want government to take your property, of course, but defending their property turned them against even the Sierra Club.

This Club has beaten down those of us with less clout. In Oregon and Washington State loggers lost their jobs to the "Northern Spotted Owl" (indistinguishable from the Southwest’s plentiful Mexican spotted owl) and other "endangered" species such as the fish-farmable Coho salmon.

Westerners have long seen fraud in how the Endangered Species Act is used ideologically to shut down sawmills, tree harvesting, mining and other capitalist enterprises, and to de facto confiscate private property.

Recently seven biologists of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Forest Service, and Washington State were caught in the act of planting hair from the "endangered" Canadian lynx wildcat in two Washington forests. One, the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, was slated for potential intense logging after a favorable spotted owl reassessment.

The government’s "lynx survey" will influence land-use rules in 16 states and 57 national forests. This planted lynx hair could have shut humans out of yet more government land. (When he was mayor of Palm Springs, California, Sonny Bono told how police apprehended environmental activists sneaking an "endangered" desert tortoise into an under-construction housing subdivision they wanted to stop.) Associated Press calls the current eco-sneak scandal "Fur-gate."

The biologists denied guilt, then confessed while claiming they planted the samples only to test whether a lab could identify lynx fur DNA. One retired, six were re-assigned, but none have been fired. A Democratic committee chairman in the Washington legislature says he believes these government employees had good intentions.

"We believe these individuals should be terminated immediately if their guilt is verifiable," wrote Congressmen Scott McInnis (R-Colo.) and James Hansen (R-Utah) to Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman and Interior Secretary Gale Norton. "Even if not criminal….this unethical behavior runs afoul of even the most lackadaisical standard of professional conduct."

"If true, these allegations reveal an unscientific and heavily politicized application of the Endangered Species Act," said Rob Gordon of the National Wilderness Institute. "All the endangered species actions of these same offices are now suspect as possibly being arbitrary and capricious, or worse."

Washington, D.C., Lefties virtually waived environmental review of the planned Woodrow Wilson Bridge to ease their traffic – despite risks, as a January 10 Wall Street Journal editorial sardonically noted, to the bald eagle and other "endangered" species. Pink-and-Green CNN founder Ted Turner sponsors Buffalo shootings for profit and is about to begin mass marketing of bison burgers. But Greens rarely criticize their comrades, saving their fire instead for Scientists who dare to question their dogmas. Now their mantle of scientific and moral superiority is falling away, leaving Green ideology naked for all to see.

Just FYI, there are some interesting pros & cons of links vs. full article posting here:

FWIW, I do both... and can see the point of "give the site more hits" as well as the "lots of old links dissappear" side.
