Q: What's the Mitsubishi Eclipse commercial theme song?
Moi | 8 Feb 02 | Hank Rearden

I bit my tongue on this one and held off until Frivolous Friday.

After trying other avenues, I find the need to resort to fellow FReepers for the answer to my current trivia obsession: What's the theme song for last year's Mitsubishi Eclipse commercial?

You've seen it: sort of edgy rock, sort of reggae - the white car is shown in quick cuts of three scenes: the three girls pulled up at the gas pump, the slender girl at the same (?) gas station patting her leg to the beat, and the sexy brunette writhing to the beat in the passenger seat next to her geekazoid date, as they pass a shiny-chrome gasoline tanker truck in a tunnel.

Song phrases like "get up, get up", "start the commotion" etc. with heavy bass beat.

Enough clues? Help! Is it a published, available song or just written for this commercial?

>You FReepers are the best. Collectively, we know everything there is to know.

Isn't that the truth. It is a truly awesome assemblage of trivia experts. ---ggg---.

Shame on you, wasting intellectual soapbox space for such a trivial thing. However, since you've opened the trivia can o'worms, I have a question for the vast right wing of knowledgeable Freepers. What the heck is this?

I have more photos here.

I wanna know how to do that!

Wifey informs me that those moves are described in The Feminine Mystique Manual, Chapter Four ("Those Little Moves That Men Find Irresistable").

Maybe Cosmo will do a piece on it. <|:)~

It's that thing they use to tighten the butt-bolts in the Algore2000 unit. My proctologist told me so.

It's for frying waffle cake-like things? Like at carnivals? Those deep-fried, fattening, delicious funnelcakes and rosette things?

I just gotta know. I don't know why

I know the feeling. I've done some internet searches recently to find out the name of another song in a Mazda ad. It's a similar commercial where people are singing along as they drive... it has a heavy guitar rhythm and the words are something like "Everything's good...Everything's fine..."

Anybody have any ideas?

"What the heck is this? "

It's an old wallpapering tool for perforating corners so the heavier vinyl types will crease neatly and "sit" into the corner, taking away that "rounded" look.
The modern version is smaller and looks nore like a pizza cutter.

That's the one! Isn't that for the Mitsubishi Montero Sport?

(sigh - thought I got left behind. Maybe I did.)

Is that the one where they mention the line, 21st century toy? If it is, here's how I do it. I find the chorus and do a search on that. Sometimes the lyrics will be on the internet. That's when I find the artist and the name of the song. With that I go to AudioGalaxy or Morpheus and download the song. Hope this helps. At one time, I had all of the movies that BMW created for their commercials.

I really don't have a clue what it is, but thank you for your guess.

Straight from Advertising 101 textbook, Chapter 1: Gorgeous women with geekie bald old guys with glasses. Don't worry if you're a geek, you can have a babe, too, if you'll only buy the product. Not so subtle message: you might not be good looking, but, boy, are you smart.

The item in your picture is an equine dental file. It is used to flatten the sharp edges of a horse's teeth so as to allow them to better crush/grind their food (grain). Although their teeth are used somewhat like molars (in a crushing/grinding motion), the teeth can also grow sharp due to mis-alignment of the lower jaw in relation to the upper mandible. Mis-alignment does not allow the teeth to wear down on their own... So the equine dentist gives them a little help with the file.

Are you sure? This seems the most logical application so far, and I've asked and shown everyone I know. The head is made of cast iron and is 'diamond' shaped without a 90-degree side to go flush into a corner.
