"You know what Europe thinks of America," council spokeswoman Henriette Girard told United Press International. "You know what America thinks of Europe: Who Cares!" FR member Technomage told the FreeRepublic Press.

It's already a state issue for the most part. I do think it should be banned on the federal level(outside of treason and similar offenses ie John Walker), because
1. I don't trust the feds to have that power.
2. Religious reasons(I view John Walker as a self-defense measure more than anything else).
Certain states I know ban the death penalty. Michigan for one. Michigan was in fact the first western govt to end the death penalty since an innocent person was hung.

The most recent state to enact a death penalty law was New York in 1995. As of January 1998, 38
states and the federal government have capital punishment laws in effect. Alaska, eleven other states --
Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Vermont,
West Virginia, and Wisconsin -- and the District of Columbia
do not have a death penalty. Sites providing
information on the current status of the death penalty throughout the nation are available on the Death
Penalty Statistics page.

They think its terrible to remove vicious killers from the face of the earth, but I wonder how they feel about the death penalty for innocent unborn children who have never wronged anyone?
It's sad what these idiots think is barbaric

The audacity of Europe is atrocious. Like we care to watch commie libs blather on "we are all weak, pitiful, helpless, and wretches of sub-human life". The line has been drawn and Europe sits there on the wrong side crying they're no longer needed or wanted. Well, they aren't.

Yup. Nuke everyone. That's the ticket. (sarcasm). If we "nuked" all the caves in Afghanistan, our folks would have not been able to access the enemy's data files; leading to uncovering more terrorist cells. "Nukem stupid" is not the only answer in running a war.

Yep, you're right, we should have a normal war; so that all the chickenshits who make it back can cop a chub, and be Rambo, Jr.
No way we would want to end the war with a push of a button and remove the chance for glory....

If each state was allowed to decide whether or not the death penalty was legal the crime in those states where it wasn't would dramatically rise.I'm confused. I thought each state has decided whether or not to impose the death penalty.

Doh. Nevermind. The rebuttal already occurred :).

"You know what Europe thinks of America," council spokeswoman Henriette Girard told United Press International.Like I really give a sh!t about their esteemed opinnion. I can not believe that we still coddling to those clowns, when we are attacked almost on daily basis, from one corner to another on various issues.
You know something, if I were Prez.Bush I would say...OK, in the next six months we will withdraw all of our military personnel, hard ware and you enlightened Euros and your 43 Clowns comission can kiss me were the sun don't shine and further more you can go and f@%k yourselves and your cheesy ass little selfserving resolutions.
Than when sh!it hits the fan do not call me. Go back to your resolutions and fix it, cause I ain't comming to save your sorry ass again. From now on you and your comrades are on your own...basta!
Boy, I can not believe, it will come to this, but as a born and raised European, I feel compelled to apologise to the American people for this childish behaviour of those arrogant snotnoses over there.
