The most recent state to enact a death penalty law was New York in 1995 New York had capital punishment until the Supremes ruled all state death penalty statutes unconstitutional in the early 70s. When the Supreme Court again allowed for capital punishment (1977?), New York refused to reinstitute it until King George the RINO restored it (one of his rare fulfillments of a campaign promise) in 1995. Of course, NOBODY will EVER get executed in New York, due to the fact that the state has one of the most liberal judiciaries in the nation.

What is the Council of Europe, and why should we care whether we have to sit in on their procedings?

When the towelheads whack a European target next, just wave this statement at the Euro-trash that wants US help to get the bad guys.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The "towel heads" will never "wack" a euro country next. The euros make too much trouble for america. the "towel heads" like this and it is in their interest for it to continue. So the euros are safe as long as they cause trouble for america and that is why they will continue to cause trouble for america.
Political asylum would be wonderful--no more executions--death rows...
they could just take all these criminals home with them---free!
Since you're not American, you shouldn't care what I think about your country. I don't live there.
"Oh don't worry. We're under no illusion that if September 11th had happened in the UK, you wouldn't have sent troops to help ( like we have with you )."As an American whose flesh and blood DIED on YOUR SOIL and is still buried there, I take offense to your uninformed statement.
Twice we have had to come straighten out your messes. Where's the damn gratitude?
Next time we liberate France, we're gonna keep it.
"The Council of Europe, established in 1949, describes itself as "the guardian of democratic security, founded on human rights, democracy and the rule of law." Without US backing?
Morons, do they really believe that we will overturn our OWN laws just because they are anti-death penalty?
