I'm a little hurt that you didn't bump me to this thread.

Anyway ... would you consider it a terrorist act if Israel follows through on their pledge?

For the record, I would not consider that terrorism. If Israel captured and killed some random Pakistani journalist to get even, then yes, that would be terrorism. See the difference?

There has been over 350 Israeli Jews killed in Israel in this last wave of terror, yet I've never seen Sharon act this way, and willing to put so many resources for a single "American Jew " who it is claimed had no business dealings with Israel or its government. Strange, is it not? Don't regular Israeli Jews, who were killed, count?

Yes, it sounds like Danny Pearl was somebody who the Israeli government deemed unusually important, for whatever reason. On another thread there was a somewhat heated debate on whether Daniel Pearl had Mossad connections.

I don't regard the execution of murderers as terrorism -- I regard it as justice. Even if the execution is not preceded by a judicial dog-and-pony show

I think Sharon was reacting to Pearls status as a Jew, not an American.

I didn't hear a peep from any Israeli politician over Yankel Rosenbaum's murder in the Crown Heights Riots in Brooklyn a few years back. Do they consider Daniel Pearl more valuable than Yankel Rosenbaum? If so, why might that be?

>>Anyone think Israel will still exist 8 years from now?<<

Eight, yes.

Thirty, probably not.

You seem ask questions, without drawing conclusions. Were you listening? Think you missed it? Off the top of my head I don't remember comments either? But, since you seem to be of the questioning ilk, perhaps lacking the ability to focus or formulate an opionion. I’ll offer my opinion in an attempt to help you.

I think virtually all Israeli’s, virtually all Jews, virtually all American’s would condemn Yankel’s murder. I could look for quotes, but I’m not going to bother. You’re an American, I’m sure you condemn it too, though I don’t remember your peep either.

But then, Do they consider Daniel Pearl more valuable than Yankel Rosenbaum? If so, why might that be?

More questions from the inquisitive, but apparently non cognitive Saron. I see several options.

Noting your cross thread “over here” postings re: Pearl’s CIA and Mossad employment, (proved by repetition of lacunas, thebolt, and others-clearly unimpeachable sources).

1 No proof, or anything, but he might have been a CIA agent (nasty stuff, working for America, deserved what he got, at least to laconas, bolt, et al).
2 No proof, or anything, but he might have been a Mossad agent (nasty stuff, working for Israel, deserved what he got,at least to laconas, bolt, et al).
3 No proof, or anything, but he might have been a Mossad agent and a CIA agent (nasty stuff, working for both the Little and Great Satan deserved what he got, at least to laconas, bolt, et al)
4 No proof, or anything, but French wife, he might have been a Frog (EU?) agent (nasty stuff, working for the frogs, deserved what he got, at least to laconas, bolt, et al)

No proof, nothing about any of these conjectures, but if any of them are factual I’m still appalled by the barbarous murder of an American. And I doubt that any implications you care to make, out there in the shadows, will change my mind. I hope you're not one of the et als.

Oh, here we go again. Look, a lot of vile crap got spit at a dead American citizen on that last thread. Before we get the Kaffiyeh Kommando Krew out in force on this one, let's review...

1. There is NO hard evidence linking Danny Pearl to the Mossad, OR CIA.

2. Anything else is PURE conjecture. Without objective proof beyond innuendo, it's worthless.

3. Stringing suppositions, maybes, and coincidences together is equally worthless WITHOUT PROOF

4. SOME of those who want most to create the possibility of Pearl being some kind of spy do so because their heroes, the terrs, look pretty bad right now, and they're doing some CYA.,p> 5. Those who do this usually fail to state why a spy on OUR side is deserving of the death of a farm animal. The fact that they apparently do believe this is sickening.

(Cool off, Sauron. I'm not talking to you. But you have to admit, the HARD PROOF of any intelligence connection of Mr. Pearl is nonexistant.)

Sharon should pipe down and let the United States handle this. Any Israeli action, even if effective, would likely make matters worse, not better, for Americans abroad.

Agree wholeheartedly. This is our matter to be handled by the USA.

Yankel Rosenbaum was Australian. No Israeli citizenship.

Facts, always facts from you. I don't think that's not what he was probing for. And if the comments are out there in the public domain, I don't they would fit his agenda.

This state of Israel was created because it's the only place in the world where Jews have the right and capability to defend themselves by themselves... Pressed slightly, even this writer would have to concede that the USA has provided a unique haven for Jews in which they have had the means to defend themselves since before the founding of Israel.

Extremely cogent point. No need to emphasize the Jewishness of Danny Pearl by the Israelis taking up the cudgel against his killers. Besides, he was killed because he was American as well as Jewish

I don't see that this is any of Israel's business. If Pearl were of Irish descent, should Ireland declare that it was going to seek revenge?

Absolutely its there business. The captors made the video to force him to declare he was a Jew. Then beheaded him. They made it as if the reason he was killed was because he was a Jew. If the same thing were done to an American living abroad, I doubt you'd have the same cavalier attitude, especially if it were a relative of yours.

I think they are using Pearl for political purposes here..

And, no.. I am not offended by it. Since they have both the resources and the desire to bring the guilty to justice.

Hey clueless in Seattle, Sharon currently has Arafat pinned down. He has had his forces exterminate numerous PLO hierchy members. He has done everything to retaliate except for declaration of war. What is your insinuation geared towards? It certainly is not based in fact, but I was wondering what your angle was.

Come on. The terrorists couldn't be any more anti-Semitic, so there is nothing to be gained by pussyfooting. Sharon is right. Jews must protect themselves, because history teaches that they can't count on other people. Smite them hip and thigh.
