Dasshole strikes again. Problem is the GOP seems totally impotent in trying to stop him. November can't come soon enough.

They have strong opinions on drilling in the ANWR, yet none of them have ever been there for any period.

Sad to say I agree with you. Bush has been a colossal disappointment with his collapsing and caving. Just call him the Souffle President.

If that's true then why he is in contact with Hoffa to pursue it?

This all goes back to the R-Vermont that jumped ship. This is what control of the Senate means.

Stinking little Fascist D'asshole.
Maybe next winter the oil companies should reduce production of home heating oil, which the constituents of most of the Senators opposing ANWR depend heavily on. Sell more and cheaper gasoline in the states whose Senators support drilling.

Problem is the GOP seems totally impotent in trying to stop him. What can they do? Gingrich did and Hastert does this kind of thing in the House all the time.
Besides, this CAFE thing won't make it out of the Senate, much less get any traction in the House.

That's why idealogues don't get elected to the Presidency.

what can they do? I don't know but you would think the Dems have a super majority. The GOP is totally silent in the Senate it seems. All I ever see on the news is Daschle, Daschle, Daschle. Where are the Republicans?
As for the CAFE standards, I think they stand a chance of making it out of the Senate but probably not the House. Heck, though, as discouraged as I am these days, I wouldn't be surprised to see the GOP cave on those too.

Liberals . . Stamping out stimulous . . twice, and now denying freedom loving Americans the use of domestic energy resources is deplorable.

The Rats might be thinking they can buy him off elsewhere, but this is now and it's long term. Hoffa won't walk away from it.

Good ole Clinton. At least he had the guts to veto legislation the Pubs sent him.
Bush and the Republicans are looking very bad domestically. The Democrats are hanging the Republicans out to dry day after day. If not for 9/11 Bush would have had a failed presidency by now. He is incapable of standing up for anything in his domestic agenda.
