Modeling Site Accused Of Child Porn
Owner Denies Pornographic Intentions, Says It's Nothing New

A teenage modeling Web site based in Miami-Dade County is under investigation by the FBI for displaying young girls in provocative images.
The site features children between the ages of 7 and 16 with headlines such as "Mollirama, a sporty little 10-year-old girl model."
The site links to a variety of girls' pages, where paid memberships can yield extensive collections of photos.
"It makes me kind of sick to see things like this with young people," said Anita Siegel of Boca Talent and Models.
Siegel, with Rep. Mark Foley, encouraged the FBI's investigation.
"It starts out innocently -- girls next to a horse, stuff like that," Foley said. "But the next thing you see is, 'What would you like to see me do?' I mean, it's just degrading, it's sad, it's immoral."
Foley and Siegel blamed parents for allowing their children to become elements of the site and fodder for pedophiles.
"More than anything, it's the parents," Siegal said. "They need to know where they bring their children. They just want their children to be stars and don't care how they do it.
"I think this is close to pornography."
The owner of the Web site, Marc Greenburg, disagreed.
"I've seen child porn, and we're many, many degrees away from it," he said. "We're not catering to pedophiles; we're catering to people who will pay money to see pictures of child models. It's nothing new, it's just that it's on the Internet."
Greenburg also denied that his site linked to pornography sites, but advertisements for it were found within a few clicks.

I've seen child pornOH REALLY?! Where was this?

Careful with that one. I've heard that it's possible to accidentally stumble on the garbage without intention -- I've even heard of people receiving it in their e-mail (which they then reported to the FBI).
You can make a lot of that statement, but it's far more damning to have it all in context:
"I've seen child porn, and we're many, many degrees away from it," he said. "We're not catering to pedophiles; we're catering to people who will pay money to see pictures of child models. It's nothing new, it's just that it's on the Internet."
I can't imagine that there's a large customer base of people willing to pay money to see child models who aren't pedophiles. I can think of a few legitimate reasons (clothing manufacturers looking for models), but not enough to run a large site. It might not be trying to imply such sinister clientel, but he should choose his wording very carefully when speaking on such matters.

i was going to say for all of you to get a life.
Then I did some checking. The guy who runs all this crap has sites like "Pig-tail heaven" and "Stacey Starlet". There are definitely picture that, while not porn, are nonetheless provocative.
Two clicks here and there and I'm getting sites named "soft teen", "I like to tease" and "Spank the Teens". Definitely borderline material.
Another click gets you all the porn in the world.

Advertisements for porn are only "a few clicks" away from anywhere on the Internet. Just do some checking on your own. That will convince you.

I've heard from a few people who got some nasty trash in the mail, some sort of sick spam run. They reported it ASAP.

You think the countries that they are in would not help out the Feds if they asked for it. Especially if they are getting financial aid. All the Feds do is tell them the ISP they want info on, and the authorities of that country go after them.
To: Dimensio
which they then reported to the FBI And for which they were then arrested for violating "child porn" laws.

Maybe they shouldn't be provocatively posed. Why is it a membership site?
Maybe this is not innocent and needs looked into.
Whats wrong with making sure?

All the Feds do is tell them the ISP they want info on, and the authorities of that country go after them.sometimes. treaties about this are being worked out. look up the "hague convention". but there are serious issues, for example, our govt won't, at the request of Saudi, go after people who are using our ISP's in a domestically legal manner to violate sharia. likewise other, potentially corrupt govts, may not do our bidding.
