Here we go, the Democrats have to raise taxes to pay for Gray Davis's energy bonds!

"This rebate is an extra that few depend on. It pales in comparison to the problems we face," Migden said. Silly Wabbit. It's not a rebate. It's called lower taxes, Migden.

"Someone with a Mercedes gets a $400 break. Do they need the $400 or are you better off giving it to education?" asked Senate President Pro Tempore John Burton, D-San Francisco. What the F...????? That's not the proper question... but the answer is, "They may not need the $400, but it IS theirs whether they need it or not..."

Almost 50% of the state budget of California is used for EDUCATION. Just how much money is enough?

"But the generosity doled out" Sure. It's their money, not ours. So they "dole it out" very "generously."

Remember when Davis and the Dems exempted California government school teachers from paying state tax? Why don't they just reinstate that tax, that would raise a lot of revenue. Why shouldn't teachers at the government schools pay their "fair share"?

Let's see Gray Davis' defend an increase in the car tax in a debate with Bill Simon.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Well, I hope they have their bags packed if they reinstitute that awful tax. That's what it is, a TAX on drivers. It's been way too high for years now and just when it gets reduced the democrats want to bring it back. They don't care - they are exempt! They are doing it because of the mess Gray Davis has created. Instead, why don't they just tighten their belts and give up a few of THEIR perks instead of punishing us!

Why Prop 45 passed... Burton IS the problem and his ilk... who think that money IS evil and should be confiscated for the common good.
Burton makes GraYout DeViuo$ look virtuous... and that takes some doing, believe me

I'm not the guy with the Mercedes, but excuse me, may I decide how to spend my money sir? California is be ruled by idiots. (and this is the country that sent a man to the moon - quote from my friend in Israel)

"But the generosity doled out in boom years has come back to pinch lawmakers." Even the press thinks the money belongs to the government. What a shame.
It's not their money. Lowering taxes is in no way an act of generosity.

This is unbelieveable.
Two years ago California had a budget surplus and a heavy "rainy day" fund. Now they have a $17.5MM budget deficit.
note to Gray Davis: "Lucy! You got some splainin' to do!"

"Someone with a Mercedes gets a $400 break. Do they need the $400 or are you better off giving it to education?" asked Senate President Pro Tempore John Burton, D-San Francisco. Look how deeply inbread in him this entitlement to take away someone else's property.
By what right, by what right do you reach into someone's pocket?
