Bush is giving the left what they want. Rush is not happy. Bush could of built on his base, instead of losing it.

Why is Rush having a cow and assuming Bush is blowing it? Bush hasn't even signed the bill yet! Does Rush think there is no possibility of Bush vetoing the bill?

Long-term, he's right. Scalia and Co. are going to knowck this law out of the park.
It's all McCain grandstanding and posturing.

Bush loses me with this one. This is as egregious a blow to our constitution as anything Clinton did.
Bad, bad mistake, George.

Let the Supreme Court sort it out, if it is unconstitutional. That is what Bush is counting on.
To: cactusSharp
Wasn't there a release from the Whitehouse stating that he would indeed sign the bill. There are a few threads showing the press release floating around.

Rush is right and Bush is wrong. The frustrating thing is that Bush's actions suggest that he - or his advisors -believes that there is a public demand for this campaign finance reform law, whereas most people don't really give a damn. They are mistaking the voices of editorial writers for the will of the people. Meanwhile, they are ignoring the Constitution and the will of grassroots Republicans.

So play politics instead of demonstrate leadership?

"WE ARE GIVING THE LEFT 75% OF WHAT THEY WANT....OUR PRINCIPLES ARE BEING COMPRIMISED....THE CONSTITUTION IS BEING IGNORED"...RUSH ON RIGHT NOW

Let the Supreme Court sort it out, if it is unconstitutional. That is what Bush is counting on.And what if Bush is wrong, and the Supremes don't do the right thing on this? It is the President's sworn duty to uphold the Constitution. Signing this horrific piece of legislation is not the first, but is certainly the most blatant, assault on the Constitution in my 52-year old lifetime.
If Bush signs this law, he is abdicating his Constitutional responsibility, plain and simple. I will not forgive it.
