You mean like predicting Lazio would lose?

Nice revisionist history. Your prediction was that Lazio would drop out of the race after he was indicted. You're much better at predicting the past than the future.

I did give you a source; New York Times 4/28/1970.

Amazing that the Times determined what caused the collapse of the Towers way back in 1970. No wonder liberals like yourself revel in their pronouncements as if they were all-knowing and infinitely wise.

had the WTC not been built "on the cheap" the WTC probably would not have collapsed.

- Tuco-bad, amateur structural engineer and repeatedly failed liberal political prognosticator.

A lot of people said, Well, the building failed. That's true, but nothing is indestructible. The question is, why did it fail? In this case, as I've explained, it was the fire covering the whole floor in a few seconds that made this different from any other fire that anyone had ever designed for.

- Thomas Eagar, Thomas Lord Professor of Materials Engineering and Engineering Systems at MIT.

Wow - tuco-bad penny has turned up. I doubt that any building even with the insulation you refer to could handle the heat brom so much blazing jet fuel. Now let's see how you defend the arab murderers in the plane.

Very sad. I was not aware of the "Poseiden Adventure" aspect to this tragedy, where some folks make a fatal decision, and head in the wrong direction. If I was there, it's quite plausible that I would be in the camp that would want to head to the roof, and wait for the NYPD choppers.

Every time my heart and mind begin to heal from the attack, I read something like this, and my hatred for these filthy, subhuman demons, who planned or carried out or applauded this, anywhere on Earth, grows 10X stronger...

Awesome, awesome story.
An amazing post.

"And at that moment my associate Ron who came down with me was overcome with smoke. He had a gym bag or a briefcase with him, and he was sort of putting it in front of his face in an attempt to filter the air. It clearly wasn't working, and Ron, with eyes shut, backed off the floor. He was almost completely overcome by the smoke.
"Again, miraculously, I was in a bubble. I was breathing fine."

This is the part that makes me sit up.
There is way more to this world than that which we normally perceive.

"We got to the point I couldn't do any more work from my side, and I said, "You've got to jump. You've got to get over this last barrier." Well, he jumped once and fell back down. I said, "Come on, you've got to do this. It's the only way out." I reached in again, and Stanley jumped, and I got him by the collar or the shoulder or somewhere there. He said later that I just pulled him up like Superman. I don't remember having this extraordinary strength, but he says it really did happen that way."

"You know, Stanley, you may think I saved your life but I think you saved my life, too. You got me out of that argument as to whether I should go up or go down. I'm here, and I'm fine, and it's because of your voice in the darkness that I made it."

I am thoroughly flabberghasted.
This story gives me chills.

Thomas Eagar does not agree with your analysis in any way. His analysis of the collapse never even mentions asbestos or the lack thereof.

The guys at my mother's company (destructive metals testing lab) said the same thing Eagar did. I specifically asked about asbestos, and they said it wouldn't have made any difference.

Thanks for this post. Never forget!

I am currently reading a book by a retired fireman called "Report from Ground Zero" ... excellent read. Lots of first hand accounts.

Why did a third building; 7 World Trade Center, a 47th story building implode?

Perhaps so, but the WTC would have stayed up longer if the steel columns were properly insulated.

Now let's see how you defend the arab murderers in the plane.

Unlike many people I will never forget the WTC/Pentagon attacks by Arab murderers, nor will I ever forgive.

how is it possible to post with your head so far up your ass ??

you evidently have absolutely NO concept of respect whatsoever.

take your amateur tinfoil bullshit to some other thread.

this one is to honor the dead and celebrate the survivors ...

A belated lesson for those that work on highrises, but find out where all the fire exits are.Amazing that they were all by themselves using this stairwell. How many more could have been saved if they knew enough to try another exit. And never go up in a fire, always head for ground. So much serendipidity in this tale, and I'm glad he shared it with the rest of us.
