"Davis sees it differently"
Davis CLAIMS that test scores are up during his three years, but that is ONLY BECAUSE HE LOWERED THE PERFORMANCE STANDARD!!!!!!!! If you lower standards, more students pass. Duh!!!!!
Please, Dump Davis! Our children, our parents, our state ... WE ... deserve better than a lying, cheating, megalomaniacal dictator!

He doesn't understand the intensity of dislike for him by California teachers. ...not to mention everyone else in California with a real job.
To: Gophack
It seems he's in more trouble than the press will ever let you believe.

WooHoo! I love it when they eat their own - GO SIMON!!!! Me, too. Too often it's Republicans who screw themselves, now it's fun to watch Republicans realize Simon is a great candidate, and the Democrats apologizing for what they have wrought.
Go Simon!

Between this, Oracle, the budget, Calpers, daycaregate, etc, Davis seems to be having a really, really bad day.

Wait a minute. I thought that the tax returns of the union show that they do not use money for partisan politics.

Although Davis has increased money for public schools by 30 percent since taking office, Johnson said "every nickel is spent before it reaches the classroom." This is result of the liberal's "trickle-down" theory. Bill Bennett referred to educational administration as "the Blob." Put in a million and maybe that nocke reaches the classroom. So they go back and ask for another million. Again, only the nickle's worth reachers the bottom. The "blob" never gets satiated

You are so right. The waste in public education is pathetic, but unfortunately conservatives don't pay much attention. Either they home school or send their kids to private school, or they think it's not a fight worth fighting (You can't fight City Hall mentality)
However, I see it as David and Goliath, and with a well-aimed blow -- and faith -- we CAN reform the public education system. We can't get rid of it ... we have to accept it and move on. These are the kids who are going to be voting in 10-20 years. These are the kids who are going to be working, being cops and firemen and teachers and salesmen. We want ethical character, not anything goes morality.
Anyway, I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir.

"Davis hit us up two or three times for a $1 million contribution. He doesn't understand the intensity of dislike for him by California teachers. They loathe him," said Wayne Johnson, president of the 330,000-member union. So then why did you endorse him, Wayne?
It seems to me there's a real opportunity here. The CTA's endorsement is already given to Davis, but if the depth of dislike is as much as Wayne says it is, Simon's people would be wise to put together a coalition of these teachers and parade around with them, saying how Davis has failed the education system. Hopefully that's already in the works.

Davis, a tireless fund-raiser with more than $35 million in campaign cashHey, the more this jerk collects, the less for other Dem candidates around the nation.

The education governor. Now we know the why of it all.
His big school improvement program and promises of improvement and holding the schools to performance requirements are now being dismantled. Yesterday's Sacramento Bee had an article that just announced Davis' as being not workable and in the process of being reduced to a few prime examples with the rest getting off the hook.
The insiders (education union/lobby) in the education world are taking over.
Now what we have is a lot of lip gloss without any real action taking place.
To: Coop
Simon's people would be wise to put together a coalition of these teachers and parade around with them, saying how Davis has failed the education system. That's a great idea. The endorsement is one thing ... but making all those teachers vote for Davis is entirely another.
Go Simon!
