SACRAMENTO - As controversy rages over the role of politics in the state's botched Oracle contract, a Mercury News investigation has found multiple instances in which Gov. Gray Davis has taken positions that favor large campaign contributors and clients of one of his closest political allies.

One other key point on the horse racing story: Davis' single largest contributor is David Shimmon, who gave $250,000 to Davis in 2001-02; and is a major figure in thoroughbred horse racing.

Davis in his veto messages said that he opposed expanding gambling on more than 10 bills related to horse racing that he vetoed.

Then he signs this one.

Interesting ...

Anderson ``knows the staff, he knows the temperature in there,'' Van de Kamp said. ``He'll tell you, `There's no way the governor can support this,' or, to the contrary, `The governor can support it.' Because a lot of decisions being made there are decisions depending on the political climate at the time. ''

yeah right...

a "climate" of cool breezes fanned by wads of green bills.

Thanks!

Now we are starting to find out how the Kali Facist, Benito Davis, was able to raise over 30 million $ for this re election the past few years.

Of course this data has been there all along and ignored by those who control the left wing press.

It looks like the Mercury, SF GayRhonicle and part of the Sac Bee have awaken finally. Makes you wonder what they really know if these stories are finally being printed. Why their editors and publishers are allowing some real reporting re Davis and his criminal fund raising.
