All one has to do is walk in downtown Los Angeles and you will see what I mean.

Insiders with the Simon team say that their recent internal polling of "very likely voters" puts Simon AHEAD of eGray by 3-4 points...
Sounds like the poll sample was of Simon campaign advisors (and he could still only muster a 3-4 point lead!).

KXTV misreported the poll. If you go to SurveyUSA's website,
http://www.surveyusa.com/home.asp
you will see that the poll was taken of 711 LIKELY voters over a THREE-DAY period, not 711 registered voters over a 2-day period.

Hmmmm? I stripped the text below the chart on their page, maybe an error on their part, Or..?

LIKELY is thought to be more predictive than REGISTERED

KXTV made several errors in their web report of the poll. Surveyusa.com has current info on all tracking polls they are conducting.

Maybe if Simon had a campaign and a message he would win. I have seen zip from him. I will vote for him because Davis sucks. With all the issues that Davis has given him Simon has done nothing with them. Sad.

Poll conducted 10-11-02 and 10-12-02. Sample of 711 registered voters from the State of California. Margin of error is plus or minus 3.8 percent. Results may not add up to 100 percent because percentages are rounded to whole numbers. |

It doesn't matter what kind of voter registration law CA has. The Democrats will sweep CA on Nov. 5 -- that has never been in doubt. The people of CA are seeking various forms of government assistance to compenstate for their expensive house payments, property taxes, fuel costs, and utility costs. I'm afraid the Republican Party is unable to convince voters in CA of much of anything. The GOP will do well to continue to run even in AZ and NV. Forget CA. It is truly a lost cause.

I also heard Bill Simon mention a poll last week, possibly paid for by White House people, where he was within 1-2% with Davis. I think their internal polling also showed that the "Davis accepting a check from Angele" photos hurt Davis, even though the actual photographed transaction was legal. It reminded everyone of Davis'
quid pro quo governance and sleazy methods of political extortion.
I wish more people could see Mr. Simon in person. I met him briefly yesterday for the first time, and that cemented my feelings that he will truly work diligently to save California and will be the best governor in a long time. (Sorry, I wasn't around when Mr. Reagan was Governor.)

I'm afraid the Republican Party is unable to convince voters in CA of much of anything. From South Texas, you must know of the problems associated with massive legal and illegal immigration. The CA Republicans convinced Californians to pass Propositions 22 (Limit on Marriage initiative) and 227 (English-language education) in the recent years by wide margins, despite strong democrat opposition. The Racial Privacy Initiative gathered plenty of signatures, too, but will be on the 2004 ballot. Californians passed Proposition 187 by a wide margin, too, but Davis refused to defend our interests when parts of it were challenged in court.
From halfway across the country it might be hard to judge CA well. TV scenes will show more from big cities and unions, so it's easy to dismiss all of us as being like the liberals. But, the rural and suburban votes count for a lot, too. You should try to meet Bill Simon and gray davis if you have the chance, or, at least, watch the debate. It's on Bill Simon's web page. You'll be pleasantly surprised with Mr. Simon; if you already have seen enough of Davis, you already know what he's like. We in CA have had enough of him and his failed governance, so it's time to retire him and replace him with a real leader -- a leader who's name is Bill Simon.
