SAN FRANCISCO - Students at the University of California may face a double-digit fee hike next year, as the state's budget crisis deepens.
UC administrators said Thursday the university should consider at least a 6.5 percent fee increase, but that the state's severe budget shortfall may well demand hikes of 10 percent or more to maintain educational quality. It would be the first fee increase in nine years.

First, there should be zero tuition discount to any legal alien here. They should pay out of state tuition fees.
Then if the student is the son or daughter of illegal aliens, they should be expelled from college. That should clear a few places in each class room and a lot in the first two years of basic college courses.
Any professor who doesn't actually teach the minimum of 4 three hour courses per semester should be fired if they have not been teaching.
Close the schools of instant unemployment to the grads with BS and Masters degrees. Where the only ones who get jobs are the ones with PHD's, who then become professors teaching the same Political Correctness Diversity Bravo Sierra. These Political Correctness schools like women's studies, urban studies, black studies are worthless and only produce more worthless phoney graduates like PC Moose with his PHD in urban Bravo Sierra.

Good! They should bump up tuition quite a bit to keep the enrollment down...they should also raise the standards. California is still the cheapest state in the union to get a college education.

The UC system is overenrolled by 4,000 students this year. They are projected to add another 65,000 students by 2010. With each UC student being subsidized by the taxpayers at over $4,000, the money has to come from somewhere.
