The company and California Gov. Gray Davis came under fire after it was learned that a lobbyist for Oracle -- which was wrapping up its all-important fourth quarter -- delivered a $25,000 donation to Davis' reelection campaign in June 2001, shortly after the ink dried on the completed contract.

Worthy of several bumps!

This is delicious. Bray Daface messed with Flores, now it's payback time, and Mr. Flores is relentless.

This is going to be truly fun to watch but with a caution: Our alternative is Crux Bustamentalcase.

That'll scare ya.

costing California taxpayers $41 million for software the state did not need

They bought software liscenses for every state employee whether they had a computer or not. This included every Lifeguard, Park Ranger, Maintenance person, Parking lot attendant, etc. and nobody got fired.

Larry Ellison's yacht is losing in the race to qualify for the America's Cup. I know it's not much consolation, but .. ;-)

Who is running this Grand Jury, Lockjaw?

How could it be that Davis doesn't have a way to shut this down?

Nope, Grand Juries are totally independent. It is an integral part of County Sovereignty.

How could it be that Davis doesn't have a way to shut this down?

He can't. If they hand down an indictment he can mess with that by coercing the County DA to throw the case. If that happens the Grand Jury could go after the DA.

The Grand Jury has no power of enforcement, but an indictment would be a huge black eye. Flores must have known the foreman would take the case.

I don't think so.. He is strictly a hands-off corruption kind of AG.. He only goes after guns most of the time, legal and otherwise. Let's see how this plays out.. I wonder if RICO is still in play if the feds are still "investigating" the most unabashedly corrupt administration since Boss Tweed.

The ultimate controlling legal authority, is the Grand Jury.

Even if they can get crooked judges or DA's to play games to keep a Grand Jury report from coming to trial, that data/findings can sit around like a time bomb for years or even decades waiting to be used.

Thanks to the Whoreacle scandal and AG Lockjaw going after Micro Soft, AG Lockjaw failed to put in place a very simple data base system to register sex offenders in Kalifornicator. He failed to insure that his Politically Correct AG office for the perverts of Kali inforced Megin's law re forcing sexual offenders be registered. I can't believe that conservative talk show hosts have not dragged Lockjaw out into the sunlight re his criminal actions of not ensuring the proper implementation of this law to protect our innocent children. (California has lost track of more than 33,000 convicted sex offenders, despite a law requiring rapists and child molesters to register each year for inclusion in the Megan's Law database. "We don't know where they are," acknowledged Margaret Moore, who until recently ran California's sex offender registry.)
