Why this obsession on labels? Is it for statistical purposes?

Paleoconservatism is defined in the American Heritage Dictionary as, extremely stubborn or stubbornly conservative in politics. While there are ideological distinctives, it seems that the biggest driving force among the paleos is that they are simply stubborn and cranky. It's a personality thing as well as ideological.

Neoconservatism emerged in the 1970s, as a reaction to the radical leftist agenda of the 1960s. Neoconservatives were more interested in challenging the hippies and activists than dismantling the entrenched programs of the New DealBump. And still true today

Let's not forget Rod Dreher's "crunchy-cons": conservatives whose lifestyle choices (e.g., granola, New Agey music and art) could get them mistaken for San Francisco liberals.

Of course, the views or Neopaleoconservatives and the paleoneoconservatives have to be taken into consideration, as well.

Paleo cons are "Charles Lindberg" conservatives after the famed 1930's aviator- hates Jews, hates trade and thinks there's no threat to our national security whatsoever from _____ the dictator.Well as a paleocon that doesn't hate the Jewish people and is in full support of Free Trade I suggest you change your label because it's quite wrong. There are a few on the paleocon side that may agree with your premise, but far fewer than you would think

Several articles showing up with this thesis: "paleoconservatism is dead."
Were not talking about the democrat party here, mind you. We're talking "paleo" conservatives are dead. No, not liberalism. No not the united nations. No, not 'old europe'... the real enemy, the paleo-conservatives are dead. These neocons are like liberals, they think if you put a negative name on somehing ( 'paleo') and than say it's dead... it actually means it's going away.
I don't think so...
